"Awaken, my dear."
I opened my eyes for the first time, and there stood in front of me was a feminine golem with half of her face broken off. Her head had crescent horns all over her head, as she stared into me with her singular eye. I could feel the sadness swelling up in her heart, even though she didn't let a hint of it onto her cold-hearted face. Was it because she saw me? I reached my little hands towards her, touching her moon-like horns.
"I'm so sorry, are you ok...?" I asked the woman in a childish voice. She looked me straight in the eyes and smiled. It wasn't an easy smile though, I felt herself trying to smile at me. I guess she wasn't used to smiling, but who doesn't like smiling? She picked me up and pat my flower-shaped head.
"It's been too long... Welcome to our shattered world, Tnemele," She spoke in a calm voice. "Oh, how long I've waited for this moment..."
I looked at her with such awe and curiosity. Why was I here? How was I here? Who is she? What did she mean by shattered world? so many interesting questions to ask!
"Who are you?" I asked her in a small, cute voice. Her not-so-easy smile turned into a saddened look.
"I am your mother."
"Really!?" I asked in excitement. She seemed happy that I was overjoyed, but I knew that something was bugging her. "Can you explain everything happening here?" Her face darkened.
"Tnemele, you were my unfinished son; a half-finished statue collecting dust in the palace. Me and your father never had enough time to finish carving your body, but I finally had the urge to finish you after-" She paused and turned her head away from me as if I was a part of the problem. "...after everyone in our universe perished... As well as your father."
"Was I only brought back to save the race from total extinction?" I asked curiously.
"..Not only that, but you are what is left to remember of your father." She looked down. I felt her heart descend deeper into true sadness, she probably sees me as my father's spitting image, reminding her of him. "I think you are too young to know... but there were only two survivors besides us."
I tilted my head in awe. So, others escaped too? I wondered who they were.
"Mother, who were these survivors?"
"Two unnamed children. They escaped the massacre 42 years ago," She brightened up like an idea popped up inside her hollow head. "They were ones we chose specifically to survive this, and your father gave them a taste of his godly powers. That was enough to help them survive... I hope."
I smiled happily and clapped my hands repeatedly.
"More! More! Tell me more about this, mother!" I shouted happily. My mother snickered a little bit, but I could tell she was uneasy of this. Here's what I was told: My father was the god of what is called the "Sun" (and his name is that too!), my mother is the goddess of moon (gosh, her name is that too!), the two survivors are on an island with inhabitants, and that I will soon grow up to be heir to the ruler of the golem race. Pretty cool, eh? Boy do I wonder: What else mysteries are there to learn?
