Chapter 1: Friend Investigation[]
Adam woke up to the sound of his mother calling him for breakfast, which was unusual, as Victor would always come into his room and wake him up with his "breakfast scream." He shrugged it off, though.
"ADAM? ARE YOU EVEN AWAKE?" He heard his mother call. "YES, I AM. NOW SHUT UP, I'M TRYING TO GET READY FOR MY FIRST DAY AT MY THIRD YEAR AT THE ACADEMY," He yelled in response. His mom proceeded to do what she was told, which was to shut up.
"Thank the Astral Warden she's quiet now," Adam muttered. He hopped off his bed. In a small pile near the end of his bed laid Adam's usual clothes. He was instructed to wear his Academy Robes on his first day, but did he really care? He was the most well-treated and well-taught student at the Academy. Shaking off his thought, he grabbed the pile and walked out of his bedroom, directly heading for the bathroom, which was sort of his changing room. He walked in, closed the door, and proceeded to change into his attire.
Adam emerged from the bathroom, Lunar Staff in hand. He wore the Mountaineer's Toque, Skywatch Gear, and no boots, as he already had ones that came with his outfit. Twirling his wand in his hand, he walked to the kitchen where his mother waited for him, setting down a bowl of scrambled eggs before his table seat. Adam sat down, and looked across from his seat. The seat in front of him was empty. Odd, he thought to himself. Victor is never late for my mom's wonderful eggs.
"Somethin' wrong?" His mom asked, looking over at him from the kitchen.
"I'm just used to Victor being here." Adam said.
"Oh, well, maybe he's sick today," His mom suggested.
"Victor is never sick, Mom. He's always well." He replied. Adam stabbed some eggs with his fork. "Could you get me some ketchup?" He asked his mom.
"Oh, of course!" She replied, opening the fridge and beginning to shuffle through it. Adam could sense his mom's disappointment.
"We're out, aren't we?" He guessed. His mom looked at him and nodded.
"Yep. And anyways, how do you know this stuff?" She asked. Adam rolled his eyes. Didn't she know he was the most intelligent member of the Academy? He shrugged, and began chugging down his breakfast. Adam then made a choice. It was that he was look for Victor only if he didn't show up for the whole school day.
Adam walked into the Academy, fresh air running through his nose. "I'm back!" He shouted with delight.
Nobody heard him other then Gale, of course.
But he had to plug his ears.
Adam ran over to him. "Oh! I'm sorry if I hurt your ears, Gale. Are you alright?" Adam asked. Gale nodded. "I'm fine, but thanks, Adam." "Alright," Adam replied. He walked off into the keystone room. "WHAT?!" He screamed. "WHY AREN'T THE PEDESTALS FIXED?! GALE....." Gale quickly flew in, muttering sorry over and over. "SORRY DOES NOTHING. IT'S MY THIRD YEAR HERE, AND YOU STILL HAVEN'T FIXED ANY OTHER PEDESTAL?!" He screamed.
Gale flew off, sobbing.
Adam continued to make his way to the Academy Garden, where the Third Years gathered for their first day. Florian pointed to the garden entrance, and Adam nodded in response. He burst through the door, and stood beside a girl with a red ponytail. Adam noticed she had blood-red eyes and held the Luma Sun Ray Rod. It didn't go very well with the Academy Set, but he didn't want to break the news to her. He stared at their teacher, who Adam didn't recognize at all.
But Victor was nowhere to be found.
The teacher cleared her throat, and prepared to speak. "Hello, fine third years! I am your teacher, Dina Heatboots. But please just call me Ms. Heatboots!" She said. Ms. Heatboots was a short woman with a brown ponytail and black glasses. She wore the Air Robes, and held a Montoya's Blade. It was in a scabbard, though. Adam noticed she looked like she was in her mid-50s. "Now, we shall head to the classroom to begin learning. You may ask for a new pet, too. We have starters for every year." Ms. Heatboots said, pointing to the exit. The third years nodded, and Adam followed behind.
But it was usually Victor who followed behind.
The school day went through fast. Adam had picked his starter, a pet named Browl. It followed him everywhere, but he couldn't fly it.
Which was rather disappointing, as he hated flying down to surface on the Academy Gloricious.
He picked up his Browl as he sat on the displeased Gloricious. He sat it in his lap. "Take me back to surface," Adam said. The Gloricious nodded and flew down, and then proceeded to kick Adam and his Browl off of it. Adam stood up, Browl and wand in hand. He dropped his Browl, and pulled out his phone. He dialed his mom's number and called. His mom answered. "Hello, Adam! What's up?" She cheered. "I'm going to be home late today," Adam said. "Wait, WHAT?!" His mom screamed. He hung up.
"Time to go look for Victor," he muttered.
Chapter 2: A Discovery[]
Adam walked to Victor's house, his Browl trailing not too far behind him. He waved at a wizard every once in a while. But he had a mission. And that mission was to find his best friend, no matter what happened. If he had to go to the remains of the destroyed Clockwork Town and rebuild it, he would. He would do anything at all. Adam then stopped. He was at the front of Victor's Cool Cave. He knocked, and his dad quickly opened the door. "DO YOU KNOW WHERE VICTOR IS?!?" He screamed. "I came here to look for him. Has he been missing all day?" Adam asked. His dad quickly nodded. "Will you go look for Victor for my wife and I?" Adam nodded in response. "THANK YOU! WE ARE SO SO GRATEFUL! WE WILL REWARD YOU!" His dad screamed. Adam shut the door, and began walking.
"I guess I'll go look in the Clockwork Town remains," Adam thought.
Adam scowled at the foul scent that emitted from the building pieces. Was he hearing....shrieks in the distance? He had to investigate. Instructing his Browl to wait for him, Adam ran into the remains. He clutched his Lunar Staff, hoping it would give him good luck. The shrieks got louder. Adam ran inside a broken TEK-Y4 building.
There he saw Victor, tied to a chair, handkerchief over his mouth.
He quickly tried to untie the ropes, but by Victor's movements he could tell that wasn't the best idea. Adam looked at him, and Victor pointed at a door. Adam nodded. He slid behind a broken wall piece, peering at Victor. He saw Pippet emerge from the door. "Master will be proud that I found Frost Beard's grandson," Pippet said, rubbing his hands together.
More coming soon!
