Chapter One[]
The plan will be set into motion.
The individual afflicted by the Calamity: Tanner Silverwood (clan-name Silverwood, surname Flamegiver)
"Killing their entire family? It seems a little harsh," VoidKnight said from the bar.
DeathKnight gently shook his head, a small smile on his face. To a sane person, a normal person, this gesture could have been seen as innocent. But no. DeathKnight was the Master of Fates. Everything would fall into place as he had envisioned it. No matter how much suffering it caused.
The television switched channels to a random house in the middle of nowhere.
5, 4, 3, 2, 1...
The clock began ticking, counting down the seconds until...
Static...
Then there was a deafening explosion, and a fissure opened up in the earth, spewing out a Volcannon, with black, inky flames and a white trail. A quick swipe of DeathKnight's hand, and Tanner was moved swiftly out of the way, as the black flames consumed his house, leaving the poor, poor child watch his family's fate be sealed.
When the black flames went, all that was left were black ashes, as if the bones could not resist the hellfire. The ground opened up and the ashes disspated, leaving the survivor of the tragedy with nothing.
Then DeathKnight clicked the remote, and the channel changed into an episode of Pokémon Ultimate Journeys as the scene vanished, and was forgotten by all except VoidKnight.
VoidKnight always remembered.
DeathKnight did not want to interfere with Gemini, but he had to. He glanced at her Calamity Clock. It was time.
If he could stop this, he would. But a writer's best work cannot be unpublished.
Blue flames erupted from the balcony of her house, burning all that was left. Gemini, trapped in the house with Lucas, frantically tried to break open the door when Lucas pushed her away from the house. Tears streaming down her face, Gemini called for Lucas, but there was no response.
Lucas had sacrificed his life for Gemini.
VoidKnight shed a rare tear, and DeathKnight became misty-eyed. Gemini did not deserve this, but it had to be done.
They all remembered, and DeathKnight had nightmares. Great, horrible nightmares as he slept. Dreamless sleep was underrated, to be honest. He could have helped, but he didn't react.
One of the mistakes that weighed heavy on his heart was sacrificing Gemini's future-- or what it could've been-- to the arena.
"Don't worry, little mortal. You will have your revenge soon," DeathKnight promised.
VoidKnight looked up at the screen, then looked away in disgust. He always remembered.
DeathKnight struggled against his bonds and yelled muffled curses at VoidKnight, who neither cared or was affected by his screaming. He had had enough of his cruelty.
He knew what would happen if he did not intervene: a plane crash, killing innocents while Rohan was "blessed" with the ability to "miraculously survive", when in reality, DeathKnight had written Rohan's fate to stay alive, while civilians were destroyed in a fiery flame.
VoidKnight would not let that happen. He was idle before, but this time he would not remain idle. With a gesture of his arm, he just steered the plane a different way. Even if DeathKnight was trying to avoid this, it would still result in the same outcome.
"Untie me you bastard! You have no right to do this! Don't you know who I am?!" DeathKnight's muffled screams echoed through the room.
Void pushed Death off of his chair and left him, writhing and screaming as he walked out to visit the Core.
"Do not tell him everything. Tell him what you know and nothing else," VoidKnight commanded.
"Of course. Why would I tell him more than he needs to?" the Core asked.
Pluto nodded and walked away. The Deviation was a prison, but not to him.
Not to the child of BFBF.
