— Shapeshifted
|
Ignis is an Academy Teacher and retired Warden Trainee in roleplays.
Appearance[]
Wizard[]
As a wizard, he sports the Bonfire Robes, has brown hair, and red eyes.
Shapeshifted[]
He's a flame patterned fire salamander, often mistaken for a lizard. He retains his red eyes and has an interesting brown patch of fur.
Personality[]
Easily annoyed and has a "temperament equivalent to that of an erupting volcano".
Weapons/Gear[]
Mayhem's Guise: Only wears it when in public, wonder why he doesn't want to be seen...
Burning Brand of Bonfire: Forged in the heat of the Bonfire Spire- "I think you mean lava."
Sword of Fire (Warfare): A burning blade that blazes with the intensity of his anger.
Bonfire Robes
Dragon Soles: "I thought you said you weren't a reptile."
"I'm not-"
"So if you're an amphibian, why do you have a dragon's taste in clothing?"
"..."
Abilities[]
Inherited[]
Shapeshifting: He can turn into a fire salamander as he pleases.
Self-Combustion: When angered, his blood literally boils. As a salamander, he ignites easier.
Fire Immunity: Fire doesn't affect him, he's quite sensitive to the cold, however.
Lava Immunity: Only applies when shapeshifted, and makes him despise water more than usual.
General[]
Telekinesis: An ability he does and will always suck at. He, however, perfected Pyrokinesis, the fire based variant.
Fire Magic
Miscellaneous[]
Warden's Touch: Before Ian, Chase, and the rest became wardens, he was supposed to take the Fire Warden's place. Interestingly enough, Professor Greenheart was the only original apprentice who actually wound up as a warden. He can manipulate the Fire Gem, but it often refuses to respond to him, seeing Chase is the current Fire Warden.
Strengths & Weaknesses[]
Strengths[]
Earth Magic
Ice Magic
Weaknesses[]
Water Magic
Aly: He's secretly terrified of her, and bothers her for the sake of boosting his confidence.
Chase: His puns never cease to be annoying, not to mention he prevents Ignis from being able to control the Fire Gem.
Backstory[]
All was peaceful in the small Bonfire Village.
Children ran and played at the center of the town, one in particular being a brown-haired, red-eyed wizard.
None of them expected what happened next.
None of them imagined that someone would slip up.
No one thought Goo-lia would react this badly.
The same brown-haired wizard hid in a small cave overlooking the village, sobbing as the last tribe member was slain.
A genocide.
Never before had the boy seen something so heartless, and because he never left the village, he overgeneralized - the whole world was now his enemy, he was all alone.
One thing pushed him forward, one thing saved him - his hate for everything and his burning desire for revenge.

"Maybe this a good thing," Ignis said after a bit, back turned to the other trainees.
"What?" Storm breathed, a mix of shock and horror plastered across his face.
Aly inhaled, trying to keep her next few words calm, "Ignis, the wardens just died. Florian's gone, Ada's gone, all the others are-"
"-gone." He finished for her, "Which means we're in charge now, correct?"
Sea was grief-stricken, but that didn't stop utter disgust from showing as she gazed at the firey wizard, piecing together what he was implying.
Abner stared at him, "Is that really all that matters to you? Achieving some silly childhood dream?"
"No. There's something else..."
None of them expected the wall of fire.
None of them knew where he had gone.
I would've loved to be your fire warden, really. Yet there's something else I have to attend to, and I don't want to take part in your disgusting grief.
You don't know what SHE did. I saw her kill them...
I don't know how anyone could accept her as a warden after what she took part in... it's best that they're dead now.
You'll never understand why I'm going to do this, but if you try to stop me... YOU. WILL. PAY.
*****
Something bubbled in the lava nearby.
"Hm?"
The wizard turned to face the pool of molten rock, spotting an orange orb.
He shifted into a salamander, scurrying into the lava and approaching the object, which shone brighter as he neared.
He then proceeded to nose nudging it all the way back to the rocky shore, turning back into a wizard once he was on solid ground.
Ignis picked up the orb, inspecting it with an unreadable expression.
Another chance.
A new power.
I told you you'll pay... this won't be in vain.
Trivia[]
- He's an endling, which pushes him to be the first at everything, despite being the last.
- He didn't always wear the bonfire robes, but after getting in a fight, he wore them to prevent anyone from noticing the scar on his neck.
- Despite Ian and the others becoming wardens, he didn't lose the streak in his hair, or his ability to control the Ice Gem. Aly assumes this is because the young wardens didn't gain their position the proper way, Ignis, however, refuses to admit she's right.
- At average, he typically only shapeshifts to spy on people...!
- Unlike the others, he did not accept the young wardens. What he plans to do about it, however, remains unknown... for now.
