Prologue[]
"That group... They seem more important than they look."
A lone wizard stands in the temple, looking out at a mourning collection of people who had just recently blown up his front lawn. Potential, unrefined. And by the expression on their faces, willing to do anything to bring back their friend.
The wizard chuckled.
As unpronounced as his appearance, again he phased into the floor.
What they'd have to do would be a challenge indeed.
Chapter 1: Alone[]
Two years later...
Chris: I sat down on a chair inside Amanda's and my house. Amanda. That name brought back too many painful memories. I looked to the side and saw the scorched red chair that was Amanda's. I remember when our parents brought it home when we were 5 and Amanda happily grabbed it (as it was her favorite color: red) and sat on it. Her hands were hot from her happiness and ended up scorching the chair. As soon as it started smoking, Amanda jumped off of the chair and Dad ended up throwing it out the window and spraying it with water from the hose. I chuckled a little, then stopped. I buried my hands in my face and sobbed. She...was actually gone. Suddenly, the door opened, and there stood Harper. I quickly wiped away my tears.
Harper: "Hello, Chris. After 2 years, are you still lamenting about your sister's death?" I asked. Chris painfully nodded.
Chris: I sighed. "Alone. I've been alone for two years. Alone. That's a word I'll never get used to."
Harper: "You poor soul!" I cried.
Chris: "I'll be fine, I guess," I replied sadly.
Harper: "I hope that's true." I mumbled.
Chris: "Anyway, why are you here? You must have come for a reason," I asked Harper politely.
Harper: "Well, I was going to ask you if you could come meet me somewhere. In front of the temple." I said. "Will you?"
Chris: "Why not?" I replied. "Even though that was Amanda's death place," I muttered, too quietly to hear.
Harper: I smiled. "Great! See you soon!" I walked over to the door, opened it, and left.
Chapter 2: An Unexpected Encounter[]
Zane: It's been 2 years since Rose's death. That...was my fault as well as the death of a girl named Amanda. Ever since then, I started bounty hunting and avoided working with anyone. I crept around the corner and slipped on my strong Ice relic and used Chill Out on the mischievous Scally stealing everyone's apples. It broke out and ran away. I chased it around the corner and ran into..."Harper?" I asked, "What are you doing here?"
Harper: "Hello, Zane! Could you come meet me in front of the temple in a few minutes?" I asked.
Zane: "You want me...to go to the place where I caused two people to die? I don't think so," I replied bluntly.
Harper: "I've got to tell you something. And anyways, it's been 2 years since you 'caused' two deaths," I said.
Zane: "And what's that?" I asked.
Harper: "We might be able to bring back Rose." I explained. THAT got his attention.
Zane: "Ok I'll meet you there," I replied quickly. How is she always so optimistic? I thought, freezing my bounty once more to take it to Boardy.
Chapter 3: The Voidwalker[]
Harper: Everyone stood in front of the temple together. "I have some good news to tell you all." I said.
A dark figure moved across the doorways, hard to make out who or what it was.
Chris: "Uh-who or what is that?" I asked, noticing the dark figure. Zane simply shrugged and pointed his wand at the figure, ready for battle. "It's alright. He won't hurt you." Harper said.
Zane: "You...know him?" I asked, lowering my wand.
Harper: I nodded. "Mhm."
A lone wizard stood in the doorway.
Unknown Wizard: "Welcome to the deathplace of your comrades, and the only place where they could come back. The temple of creation and its opposite are intertwined here. Now... Do you want answers?"
Chris: "So we can bring back Amanda?" I asked enthusiastically.
"Depends. How far are you willing to descend into uncreation, so that your friend may have a second chance at life?"
Chris: "Very far," I said happily.
Unknown Wizard: "To go so far as to bend the rules of creation... A burden will be on your shoulders until you escape."
Chris: "I'll do anything for my sister! I'll carry that burden forever, if it's for her sake!" I shouted.
The wizard smirked.
Unknown Wizard: "More confident than they were, but even then..." I murmured. "So then. Your ally there... Harper, was it? She wanted answers from the keeper to see if she could save her friend from the clutches of death. I'd like to know who you are, you who would break and bend the barriers of life and death."
Chris: "My name is Chris Snapdragon. I was born to Amelia and Ryan Snapdragon. I have a power that allows me to transform into a dragon. My sister Amanda was the greatest duelist in my town. She earned many rewards from winning battles with other wizards. I couldn't even beat her in battle," I explained.
Zane: "I'm Zane Goldencaster," I replied. "The one who caused this whole mess," I muttered too quietly for anyone to hear. I didn't feel like talking after that. I was the one who released Forbidden Darkness, who released the Light Consumer, who killed Amanda and caused Alvin to have to shoot Rose. If I didn't touch that stupid rock, none of this would have happened.
Alvin: "I'm Alvin Stormward. My purpose is to exist, and nothing more. I like adventures," I said.
Unknown Wizard: "My name is Luke Darkshade, keeper of the temple of creation, and Voidwalker. To bring back these comrades of yours, you'll must dare tread the planes of uncreation. Do you dare risk your freedom to save your allies? This is your last chance." Everyone nodded in agreement, not knowing what a wild ride they were in for.
Luke: I smiled. "I give you fair warning. Know this:
Dead fools tell no tales."
I then caused a massive explosion, pushing everyone outside of space and time.
Chapter 4: Into the Void We Go![]
Harper: "Woah." I said. "THIS IS SO COOL!" Chris said in awe. Luke explained the location. "This is the void: where uncreation is the only thing that exists. Ghost imprints of dead people's life forces exist here. The plan is to find Amanda and Rose's dead imprints and drag their bodies from existence to the void. From there, we need to escape the void." "WOW!!!" Chris squealed, fanboying.
Zane: "Did-did you say ghosts?" I asked nervously. "I'd rather NOT get possessed again..." he trailed off. Luke laughed. "Oh, don't worry. They're not possesive." His expression then turned more serious as his equipment darkened. In a chorus of voices that weren't his own, he continued: "But if you make the wrong mistakes... HE won't be liable for the consequences.". "Um..." Chris said, concerned, and no longer fanboying.
Zane: "Uh-what?" I asked nervously. "Also, I feel funny..." I trailed off.
Luke: I went on. "You don't have much time. You're not Voidwalkers, which can only mean one thing. You've got a limited time before you stop existing entirel-" I stopped midsentence and turned around. The void seemed to glitch momentarily....
Zane: "That's just great," I muttered, staring at my somewhat transparent hand.
Luke: I turned and continued towards what seemed to be an imprint of old village, ridden with crystals. Zane pointed at the crystals. "What are those for?" he asked.
Zane: I heard whispering. One voice sounded male, the other sounded female. "Don't know... but someone here is related to this place. Careful: imprints are swarming this place, don't look or interact with them." Luke replied.
Alvin: "Someone's here." The female voice said.
That voice... Familiar, but too much.
Dead fools tell no tales.
Let not your enemy hear you speak, Luke thought.
He walked forward and tried to see who was there.
Alvin: The two figures ran away as Luke approached them. I pulled out my Blizzard Buster.
Luke: I stopped and snapped. Walls made of intertwined tentacles stopped them and encased the village. They simply phased through the tentacles and walked into the open.
"This is bad."
Luke thought about this situation.
Free manipulation of the void... that meant only one thing.
Voidwalkers.
But who...?
Then, the imprints around the village began to stare at the group.
One stepped forward...
And every imprint rushed them with murderous intent.
Harper: "FRICK FRICK FRICK" I screamed. Zane fired a bunch of Snowling Balls at them, only for them to phase through them. "That didn't work..." he trailed off. Luke's staff took new shape. A fourth claw extended below the 3 on top of the staff, creating what looked like some sort of hand. A crystal formed inside of the "palm", and it created an energy blade looking like a scythe. "Get ready," he warned. I nodded. I was ready.
Luke: I then sliced through 5 of them, making them more physical but not killing them. It looked like they could be defused now...
Harper: I sliced 2 other ones, making them physical. I then killed them both.
Zane: I put my Mira's Staff away and whipped out my Chill Char Gladius and and hacked away at the imprints, turning them physical and killing them, causing them to fade away.
Luke: I threw my scythe out. It spun in a circle 3 times and killed at least 10. 16 down. 44 to go.
Chris: I roared and turned into a dragon, clawing them, and torching them with my flame breath. Alvin used Spearicle Crush, impaling 5 imprints, and killing them.
Luke: The group whittled away at the imprints when only two remained. "s a v e . . . h e r . . . ", they seemed to whisper. Harper raised a eyebrow at the imprints. I impaled them both using tentacles and sweeped my hand across the ground. "Who...?"
Zane: I put my Chill Char Gladius away. Then, two voidwalkers appeared. "My name is Normandy," the male one said. "She is my sister, Narcissa," he finished pointing at the girl. Luke's stare narrowed. The blade on his staff turned into more of a halberd. Narcissa's eyes widened when she saw Zane. "CUTE BOY ALERT! CUTE BOY ALERT!" She said roboticly. "AHHHHH!" "Er-what?" I stuttered. Then the girl started to chase me. This can't end well, I thought, and ran around, trying to avoid Narcissa. "A...little...help...here?" I gasped. Alvin stifled a laugh. I glared at him.
Harper: Luke's expression froze out of confusion. "Woah, that's a little direct for a dude you've seen for 5 seconds. Maybe let up on him?" I burst into laughter while Normandy grabbed Narcissa and slapped her 50-100 times.
Normandy: "Narcissa, WE ARE SUPPOSED TO KILL THEM. NOT ATTEMPT TO MARRY THEM!" I yelled.
Harper: Luke's staff dissipated. "So... what do you want, besides getting in bed wi-" He was shushed by Normandy. I laughed even harder.
Zane: Luke shushed Harper. "YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY?" I yelled, running away from Narcissa, who had slipped out of her brother's grasp "SOMEWHAT!" Luke yelled back.
Luke: I then snapped. Tentacles rose out of the ground and pulled Zane away from this E-Thot Narcissa. "My boyfriend matieral has escaped! NOOOO!" Narcissa whined.
Narcissa: Luke smirked. "Mind explaining why you're here, now?" His staff rematerialized in his hand, in normal form. "We're here for the traveller from an antique land," I replied. Luke's smirk faded from his face. "...Specifics?" he asked. "Two vast and trunkless legs of stone stand in the desert. Near them on the sand, half sunk, a shatter'd visage lies, whose frown and wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command tell that its sculptor well those passions read which yet survive, stamp'd on these lifeless things, the hand that mock'd them and the heart that fed. And on the pedestal these words appear: 'My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!' Nothing beside remains: round the decay of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare, the lone and level sands stretch far away." I continued.
Zane: "Who is 'Ozymandias'?" I asked. "You're going to be the ones to answer that question." Narcissa laughed.
Luke: I stepped forward. "King of Kings, now locked betwixt the seams of the void from their student's escape. I've heard so many things... but..." I stopped to think.
Chris: Zane looked at Harper, who shrugged. "Uh, your arm is becoming transparent," he pointed out. "The heck?" Harper said, looking at her arm. I looked at Zane. "Same with yours," I pointed out. "So are we gonna get Rose and Amanda or what?" Zane asked. "We still are fading out of existence after all," Zane finished.
Zane: Luke stepped forward. "Get out of the way. We have something to finish, voidwalkers," he said. "As soon as you give me my boyfriend!" Narcissa yelled. Normandy facepalmed. "Uh-" Zane backed away slowly. "You'll never catch us," Normandy teased.
Luke: "Then so be it. We will clear our path by force." I spun my staff, becoming a scythe once again. I then rushed forward, blade brandished.
Alvin: Chris turned into a dragon and fired flames at them. Luke caught one of the flames on his scythe, slashing away with fire as his blade. The two brought out their swords and vanished from sight. "What the heck?" Harper said bluntly. I whipped out my Blizzard Buster and grinned, ready for battle.
Zane: "You're finally mine!" I heard a voice. Suddenly I was yanked backwards by an invisible force. "What the-" I was confused.
Luke: I phased into reality, took 3 steps backwards, and phased back into the void. I then slashed at the space right behind Zane's back. An "Ow!" emerged from the area and Narcissa reappeared, jumping up and down with scorched, bloody fingers.
Harper: Alvin grabbed Zane and began to follow Luke. I blinked. Chris followed Luke too. "Wait up!" I squealed, running over.
Luke: I began to look around, waiting to see if our enemy happened to affect the environment.
Zane: Everyone's-except Luke-whole bodies were now translucent. Suddenly, the void appeared to...glitch?
Luke: I sighed. "Get away from here. I'll bring you out, you'll be fine." I threw everyone except for the voidwalkers into a portal to reality and turned back to face the fight alone.
Chapter 5: Here we go again...[]
Zane: Everyone fell on the ground, outside of the temple. "What...just happened?" I asked. Alvin shrugged.
Luke stood in the center of the village. Footprints formed around him, swords trailing in the "grass".
"Dead fools tell no tales."
He spun his scythe, the blade turning a darker color.
His voice echoed in a chorus: the voices of the dead which were slaughtered here.
"IF YOU STAY, YOU'RE NEVER TALKING AGAIN."
He rushed forward, slashing in front of the footprints.
Zane: "Where did Luke go?" I asked. Chris shrugged.
Luke was intertwined in a battle with enemies he could just barely see. Tentacles shot out of the ground, stabbing at the path the footprints were going in.
Harper: Something was glowing on the top of the temple, very faintly. "Chris, can you change yourself into a dragon so we can fly up there?" I asked Chris. "Sure," Chris replied, morphing into a dragon. "Hop on," he stated. I hopped onto Chris's back. Everyone else did the same. He flew to the top window. There, everybody hopped off. I grabbed the light, and everyone was sucked back into the void.
Zane: "We're back in the void." Harper moaned. I looked around. "And Luke is nowhere to be found," I sighed. "I know how to get around here. Are you looking for that Luke boy?" A young voice said. Everyone whipped around to see a 11 year old girl with Mira's Robes on. "Yes, we are looking for Luke. Do you know where he is?" Zane replied politely. "His coordinates point to over there." The girl pointed left.
Luke, meanwhile, had taken a few hits, but both targets remained visible now.
Swords clashed with scythes, blade's aftertrails move and slice.
Zane: "Thanks," I replied. "Who might you be?" I asked. "I'm Cibyl Windshadow. I'm non-binary, which means I have no gender. I got stuck in the void quite sometime ago," Cibyl said. "Well that explains why you are fading..." I replied, "Do you wanna come with us? We'll be leaving after we find Luke, Amanda, and Rose." "Who's Amanda and Rose?" Cibyl asked, "And I'll be glad to come with you."
Chris: "Amanda is my sister, and Rose is the one who saved the island from the Light Consumer," I replied. "Who's Light Consumer?" Cibyl asked. "This is gonna be a longgggg day...." Harper sighed. "An ancient spirit who tried to take over the island and kill us all," I replied. "Cool," Cibyl said. "What do you mean 'cool'? He tried to kill us all!" Chris exclaimed.
Harper: "He did manage to kill Amanda," Zane muttered, "And Alvin had to kill Rose to keep her from going insane and killing us..." "Oh. Sorry. I'm a introvert, so I'm not really good at being social. I meant that it's cool he's a ancient beast." Cibyl explained. Alvin shrugged. Zane stayed quiet and walked away. I followed him. "Why, exactly are you following me?" Zane asked. "What are your feelings on what Cibyl said?" I asked. "That brought back...painful memories," Zane sighed. "Of course it did. But they wouldn't know how terrible Light Consumer was, would they?" I pointed out. "Yeah, but it's still my fault the Light Consumer was released, my fault Amanda died, and my fault Rose died," Zane muttered. "Don't blame yourself for all of it," I said. "You weren't the one who released Forbidden Darkness," he shot back. I was stunned. How could I reply to him? I then walked off, upset. "Maybe you guys are better off without me," Zane continued walking off in the other direction. "What happened?" Chris asked as I returned. "Zane is blaming himself for the deaths of you-know-who and you-also-know-who." Harper replied bluntly. Chris was visibly surprised. "That wasn't his fault that Rose and Amanda died..." Chris seemed to choke on the name Amanda.
Luke: I stood, staring down the two walkers in front of him. Each of them were tired, barely able to make their magic take form. "Leave," he said. "Nev-" Normandy stopped and looked at Narcissa, who was flapping her arms. "What are you doing?" he asked. I raised an eyebrow. “I wanna fly! It’s always been my dream!” Narcissa said happily.
Normandy: I sighed. "WE ARE FREAKING VOIDWALKERS, NOT PEGASI," I yelled. "Er-where did Darkshade go?" I asked, noticing that Luke was gone.
Narcissa: "Probably using our argument to his advantage. Which means, he's probably about to attack us!" Narcissa replied.
Fshing.
A slash to the backs, completely severing the spinal cords. However, the failsafes kept them alive. 2/3 left.
Kchk.
Carry momentum, decapitation on Normandy. 1/3, 2/3.
Darkshade's eyes flared purple.
Tentacles restrained the siblings.
"208 WERE SLAUGHTERED HERE. LEAVE, LEST IT BECOME 210."
Luke: The tentacles released. The vents on the orb of his staff stopped flaming, and everything returned to normal. A powerful aura flared amongst the cave here... strange. Narcissa quickly grabbed her sword and tried to made a run for it. Normandy also ran away. Just then, Harper, Chris, Alvin, and Cibyl walked around the corner.
Harper: "Luke! Thank god we found you!" Harper said in delight.
Luke: In the sorry state I was in, I smirked. "Yeah, no. If you found me a minute earlier you'd all be dead, haha." Alvin shrugged.
Cibyl: I smiled. "I would've loved to be here earlier." I whispered to myself.
Chris: Cibyl whispered something I couldn't quite make out. I ignored it. Luke appeared to hear what Cibyl said, as he looked skeptically at Cibyl.
Harper: "When did you pick up this one?" Luke asked. "We just found them stuck in here," I quickly explained. "...Alright then."
Luke: I then looked at the imprint of the village. "Lovely place. Shame one of you had to leave it. Hm... Let's move." Everyone nodded.
Somewhere else....
Zane: I was sitting in a shadowy meadow. I sighed. "Zane." a familiar voice whispered. "Who said that...?" I asked. I turned around and jumped. "You again?!" I exclaimed. No way. This isn't happening. Not again!
Chapter 6: Escaping the Void[]
Chris: "Where's Zane?" I asked. Nobody answered. "Wow, we're such great friends...." I mumbled. "Should we go look for him?" Alvin asked. "YES!" I exclaimed. Everyone looked at Luke. Luke nodded. "Wait-where do we start?" Chris wondered.
Zane: I couldn't move. I wanted to run, attack him, scream for help-actually maybe not the last one-, but I couldn't move Forbidden Darkness-or his imprint-loomed closer. Just then, Harper, Chris, Cibyl, Alvin, and Luke appeared. "Thank god we found you!" Harper said in relief. I didn't-no couldn't respond. Forbidden Darkness glared at Harper.
Harper: "YOU! WHY IN THE NAME OF THE ASTRAL WARDEN WOULD YOU BE HERE?!" I screeched.
Chris: "Now, you see Cibyl, this hideous thing is the thing that tried to kill us all," I said calmly. Forbidden Darkness just stared at Harper some more and lunged at her. Harper deflected Forbidden Darkness with her Ice Sickle.
Harper: Chris transformed into a dragon and roared, firing a blast of fire at Forbidden Darkness, who simply phased through the attack, and punched Chris in the jaw. Cibyl tapped me on the shoulder. "Do something to make me cry," They asked me. "Why?" I asked. "Trust me." Cibyl replied.
Another imprint.
Just gonna have to do this the hard way.
Luke's staff rematerialized into a scythe. He slid underneath Forbidden Darkness, driving the sharp edge of the scythe into Forbidden Darkness, making him physical.
Zane: I watched the fight, frozen. A vision of Rose and Amanda snapped me out of his trance. I can't just stand here, I thought. I used Snowling Ball on Forbidden Darkness, which collided with him, but had no effect. He whipped around and glared at me. That was a bad idea, I thought. I backed up into a wall, with nowhere to run. He then saw Harper doing something to Cibyl. "Uh, a little help here?" I asked, using his Magmischief's Fire Rod to block Forbidden Darkness' attacks, which eventually snapped. "Aw come on! That was my favorite wand!" I sighed.
Harper: I made Cibyl break into a fit of tears. Her tears were "ACID?!" Chris screeched. "WE GOTTA GET OUTTA HERE!"
Zane: I dropped the remains of my wand on the ground. "Gotta run. See ya!" I used Volcannon to blast Forbidden Darkness into the air, then made a run for it. Why didn't I think about that earlier? I thought. When I approached the acid, I used the wings on his Draconyx Gear to fly...lopsided. Who new is was such a terrible flyer? As soon as I reached the other side of the quickly advancing acid, I nauseously ran after the others, trying not to throw up.
Chris: Cibyl's body didn't look damaged by the acid. That was interesting...
Harper: After they had left the meadow, Zane approached me. "I'm sorry. About earlier," Zane said. I grinned and gave him a thumbs-up. "It's okay." Zane also smiled a little.
Luke: I watched, impressed. Overcoming that memory, and the acid... It was hard to stay calm.
Chris: I noticed something. Everyone except Luke were now practically transparent. "Uh-guys. We are fading still..." I pointed out.
Cibyl: "Then let's go." I said, walking towards them. I had finished crying.
Luke: I stopped and turned towards the acid-filled area. He continued walking, the trees and floor forming tentacles as a path. An imprint lay in the rapidly melting body of the Darkness. I tapped his scythe on the tentacles, the imprint being held by them. "This... this is one of them, isn't it?" I walked back to the group, path deforming behind him, imprint in tow. I then picked up the imprint and threw it into the ceiling. It disappeared. "Let's continue," I suggested. I began to walk away from the massive pool of acid. Everyone briskly nodded. They continued. I phased up into the ceiling and returned with the relic from the top of the temple. "Could someone take this?" I asked.
Chris: I took the relic from Luke. "Uh-what is tha-" before could finish my sentence, I was sent flying backwards as a shadowy figure punched me across the area.
Alvin: "Aw great," I sighed, staring at the pieces of the relic in Chris's hands.
Cibyl: "Please don't tell me it's the traveller from the antique land," I sighed.
Zane: I looked at the spot where the figure came from and noticed something. "Oh hey! There's Rose and Amanda!" I exclaimed, pointing to two figures, chained to the wall. "Who is the "traveller from the antique land" anyway?" I asked.
Rose: "ROSE!" Harper cried. "What a great timing," I said sarcastically, "The traveller is Ozymandias, King of kings. Don't you remember?"
Amanda: "CHRIS! I've missed you!" I shouted happily.
Luke continued forward. The Power Orb on his staff began reacting to the figure's presence, flaring. He could hear the souls' screams...
Luke: "I-i can't go against him...." Cibyl stuttered. They began to sob. "B-but I'll f-fight him just so I can d-die...." I turned to look at Cibyl. "That brings [BURDENS UNWANTED]. To do so would [HAVE THE ADVERSE EFFECT]." The shrieks of the dead grew louder, in infinite crescendo.
Zane: I whipped out my Chill Char Gladius and hacked away at the chains holding Amanda and Rose. "It won't work." A horrid voice said. "I have to remove them myself."
The shrieks from within Luke's staff grew ever louder when the voice spoke.
Luke kept walking toward the figure.
Luke: Cibyl burst into tears. Everyone made sure they weren't too close to them.
Zane: I brandished my Chill Char Gladius and charged at Ozymandias. Cibyl countined crying as Chris changed into his dragon form and flew straight at the figure. Harper was on his back, holding her Ice Sickle. Ozymandias summoned 10 ghost imprints to attack us. I sighed. "The cool thing about my new body is that you can't do damage to half of it. Half of my body is glitched, any whenever you hit me there, it'll do nothing." Ozymandias explained. You could tell he was smirking. I used Super Nova and took out two imprints. "Two down, 8 to go," I said. "There's always more." Ozymandias chuckled.
Harper: "You've got to be kidding," Zane sighed. Chris fired flames at some of the imprints, disintegrating them, and I sliced 1 in half with my Ice Sickle. "This is the void, Zane," I said. "Yeah, I know," Zane sighed. "CAN'T ANYTHING BE EASY?!" he yelled as 500 more imprints appeared. Cibyl cried harder. The imprints melted.
Harper: "Ok, I guess that was easy," Zane stated, hovering in the air using his Draconyx Gear's wings. Alvin was hanging onto Chris's dragon leg, barely avoiding the rising acid. Ozymandias screeched as the normal side of him was engulfed in acid. Everyone was now flickering in and out of existence. The chains holding Rose and Amanda disappeared. Amanda grabbed Rose with one hand and fired flames out of the other, preventing them from falling into the rapidly rising acid. Twitching, Ozymandias summoned some imprints to take on Cibyl. Luke, wading through the acid, crept over to Ozymandias.
The staff at his hand flared. Spikes grew upon the orb, circular vents in a pattern around the original ones. The shrieks and echoes of the dead filled the room. The scythe blade grew longer, engulfed in a terrible black.
"KING OF KINGS. IT APPEARS WE WILL HAVE TO COMMIT REGICIDE."
Tentacles and shards of crystal appeared upon the Walker's path.
The true nature of a Walker revealed, Luke rushed forward, scythe blade trailing behind him.
Harper: "His name was Ozymandias, King of Kings~" Voices sang. "We need to get out of here. Like, NOW," Zane interrupted them, flickering even faster. I snapped his fingers, and a portal opened. Everyone quickly jumped through it. Everyone appeared in the temple yard. Zane blinked.
Luke: "That was interesting," Cibyl said. "Hey! We are all al-" Zane stopped moving, as did everyone else in the yard except for me. Time Manipulation. Interesting. But it will have to wear off soon. I whipped around and stared at Ozymandias. Ozymandias summoned two swords and charged at me. I dodged the attack and grabbed the fractals of Ozymandias's body and used the void's amorphous properties to make him... hurtable. My scythe's orb flared. I knocked the false monarch off-balance using the handle of my staff and began to slash. Ozymandias barely blocked each attack, ducked under the last slash, and kicked my staff out of my hands. I reacted by putting by arms into a cross/block. Tentacles raised in front of me, armored with shards as a wall. Ozymandias repeatedly slashed at the wall, and failed to break it, resulting in 2 broken swords. Cibyl just dropped onto the grass. "Kill me already. There's no point to battle you, I can't defeat you." Ozymandias looked behind him. "How are you able to move..." he trailed off, "I'll deal with you later."
That's 1. 4 left.
Luke recalled the tentacles and called his staff to his hand.
The screams of the perished grew ever louder in the King's ears.
"WE CARE NOT FOR THE PAIN, NOR THE BURNING. WE HAVE BEEN LOCKED IN THE VOID FOR SO VERY LONG. THE NOTHINGNESS AND ALL IN IT NO LONGER MATTER TO US."
The voices coming from Luke were not his own- rather the voices of the souls trapped in the void and encased in his staff.
Luke: Ozymandias summoned 2 ghost imprints. "Alright, Darkshade. This is your end," Ozymandias grinned.
Harper: I froze Ozymandias. "This'll buy us some time. Do whatever you need to." Harper quickly ordered. Chris, Zane, and Alvin started moving again.
Zane: "ive!" I exclaimed. Then I stopped, noticing the surroundings. "What just happened?" I asked, confused.
"KILLING THIS BODY WILL NOT AFFECT US. WE WILL HAVE OUR WAY, NO MATTER THE COSTS."
Luke(?) pushed his palm forward into the air. Tentacles impaled the imprints and used the momentum to grab the King's arms. Luke(???) then summoned more tentacles to grab the king's neck. He readied his scythe and prepared to decapitate.
Harper: Ozymandias promptly phased through the ice. "Frick," I muttered.
Luke: The tentacles restraining the king tightened. Ozymandias then dropped himself into a portal and closed it, cutting the tentacles. He reappeared, standing in the same spot. He pointed to the glitched side of his body. "You may have made me hurtable, but the void lives in me," he cackled.
"YOU IGNORE THE TRUTH, MONARCH. THIS BODY WAS MADE TO TREAD THE VOID, MADE TO WALK THE PATH OF THE NOTHING. WE CARE NOT FOR YOUR TRICKS." voices echoed.
Chapter 7: Breaking the Void[]
A portal appeared, and a few teenagers tumbled out of it.
Chris: "Uh- who are you?" I asked. "Hi! I'm Zane Battleblade!" Zane replied happily.
Zane Goldencaster: "WHY DOES IT FEEL LIKE I KNOW YOU?!" I exclaimed.
Zane Battleblade: I shrugged. Leilani blinked. She looked at Ozymandias, and shrieked. "Not him!" I gawked at Ozymandias. "B-b-b-but you DIED!" I exclaimed.
"MONARCH. WE ARE AT THE SPLITTING SEAMS OF EXISTENCE. THIS BODY EXISTS IN MORE UNIVERSES THAN YOU COULD EVER KNOW. HOWEVER, YOU DO NOT."
Academy's Secret Darkshade and Wizard School Darkshade appeared out of nowhere... literally.
Leilani: "Where did you guys come from?" I asked.
Taro: I fell out of a random portal that opened two feet in the air. Just as I was about to stand up, Kyle, Lei, and Pan fell on me. Pan, of course, landed on his four feet. Lei immediately fainted at the sight of everything. "She'll be fine," Kyle sighed.
Chris: Another portal opened, and the Light Consumer and Forbidden Darkness came out of it. "THERE IS EVEN A UNIVERSE WHERE THEY SURVIVED?!" I yelled. 2 more portals opened. "Aw shoot," the Zanes said simultaneously.
Chapter 8: Breaking Reality[]
Zane Goldencaster scratched his head in utter confusion. Just then Lyndia appeared. There apparently was a universe where she lived. Lyndia snuck over to Ozymandias, syringe in hand. She stabbed it into Ozymandias' leg, and began to drain the void from him. Ozymandias dropped himself, and Lyndia into a portal in the void. Everybody heard her scream and turned towards the sound, but it was too late. Cibyl watched. Ozymandias yanked the syringe out of his leg and snapped it, absorbing the void again. He opened another portal and walked back into the real world, closing the portal, trapping Lyndia inside. The Darkshades pushed Lyndia up into existence again, as they followed the King. "YOUR ACTS HAVE SPLIT UNIVERSES ENTIRELY. IT IS TIME TO END THIS, FALSE MONARCH." The Darkshades attacked in unison: WS Darkshade boosted the others up to a higher location using Void Altering. The other two began slashing- one after another, no breathing room. Ozymandias summoned a shield to block the attacks and portaled back into the void, absorbing more of it, causing more portals to open.
This time, Zane Darkhunter walked out of a portal. There apparently was another universe where he was alive. "Oh cool! He looks just like us!" Zane Battleblade exclaimed, "Let's meet him!"
"I'm not so sure about that," Zane Goldencaster replied skeptically.
Zane Battleblade shrugged and ran over. "Hi I'm Zane Battleblade! Who might you be?" Zane asked.
"Zane Darkhunter," he replied, levitating Zane Battleblade into the air, "and you are in my way." He tossed Zane Battleblade aside.
Overloaded Aaron appeared out of a different, yellow portal. He began preparing a barrage of crystal spears before the Darkshades brought him to Ozymandias' position in the void. Redirecting his aim, Aaron launched an assault of crystal and blood upon the King of Kings. Ozymandias raised his shield and blocked the spears. He grinned, teleporting in and out of the void, absorbing more and more of it. Soon, his body was completely glitched and the void started to fade away. More portals opened. Overloaded Aaron's very stare seemed to make everything it looked at freeze out of terror, but not this king. He prepared a massive battering ram made of crystal and launched it at the King. Ozymandias separated the battering ram and turned it into crystal spears and fired them at Aaron. "Did you forget that I AM THE VOID?" Ozymandias asked, as voices of the ghost imprints in the void echoed. The spears turned to dust when they approached Aaron. He summoned a sword made of crystal like obsidian and began to walk forward.
Chapter 9: Absolute Insanity[]
Meanwhile, Zane Darkhunter summoned two black versions of the Titan Power Katana, and charged at Zane Goldencaster and Zane Battleblade. Harper, Rose, Amanda, and Chris were battling the Light Consumer. Pan was trying to wake Lei up while Taro, Lyndia, and Kyle were trying to land a blow on Forbidden Darkness and Leilani was staring at everything, frozen in shock.
Chris whipped out his Eclipse Sky Scythe and it instantly ignited. "Alright, Light Consumer, let's end this, AGAIN," Chris growled.
Lei woke, and had her spear materialize in her hand. She stood up, and ran over to Zane Darkhunter to fight him.
Zane Goldencaster barely blocked each attack with his Chill Char Gladius.
Pan hissed and leapt at Zane Darkhunter. Zane took one step back as Pan flew right in front of his face.
Zane Darkhunter brandished his Titan Power Katana and cut off the sharp edge of Lei's spear.
"My Spear of Hope always wins over Despair!" Lei said as she struck Zane Darkhunter's face.
Zane rubbed the side of his face, which was now swollen, grabbed the remains of the spear out of Lei's hands and tossed it away. Zane Battleblade fired 5 Icicle Shards at Zane Darkhunter, only for him to melt the ice by using Combustion. He glared at the 3 heroes-and cat-ready to attack him.
Zane Goldencaster charged at Zane Darkhunter, Chill Char Gladius in hand, only for Zane Darkhunter to kick the wand out of Zane's hand and snap it in two and toss the pieces away.
He threw Zane Goldencaster across the battlefield, knocking him into Zane Battleblade.
Chris slashed his scythe at the Light Consumer, only for the Light Consumer to phase through the attack.
Harper shot some Icicle Shards out of her Ice Sickle. The Light Consumer redirected the attack back at Harper, who jumped back, avoiding the Icicle Shards that slammed into the ground, in front of her feet.
"You think you can hurt a shadow?" the Light Consumer laughed.
“We got rid of you last time. And we can do it again.” Chris said.
Cibyl walked over. “I-I’ll sacrifice myself. So you don’t have to deal with him or me anymore...”
"Why do you feel as if nobody needs you?" Chris asked.
"I-i know I may have beaten Mira Shade, but I'm weak. Nobody likes me, other then Rizi. My father comitted sucide when I was 4 because the doctors told my parents to address me as non-binary. SEE! MY FATHER KILLED HIMSELF BECAUSE OF ME! I'M WORTHLESS! I WANT KILL MYSELF!" Cibyl cried. Tears began to fall from their cheeks.
"You are not worthless or weak!" Chris exclaimed, "You saved our lives from the imprints in the void twice!"
"People use my power to their advantage all the time! I felt like I did nobody a favor after that." Cibyl sobbed.
Before Chris could respond, he was tossed to the side and into the trunk of a tree by the Light Consumer. "And I will take advantage of your power!" the Light Consumer cackled, possessing Cibyl. Cibyl's body was filled with energy. Everyone heard some whispers, and Cibyl burst into tears. They were crying harder then they had ever before. Cibyl's tears burned into the ground, and created a hole that slowly expanded in depth and width.
"What the-" Zane Battleblade trailed off. "HER TEARS ARE ACID?!" he exclaimed.
"Cibyl is a they, thank you very much." Harper corrected.
"Oh, sorry," Zane Battleblade apologized.
“Cibyl, stop.” Leilani ordered. Nothing changed.
Zane Goldencaster glanced at Cibyl, remembering his experience being possessed. Then, he noticed Zane Darkhunter charging at him, and he barely managed to dodge the attack by stepping to the side. Zane Darkhunter twirled his Titan Power Katanas and charged at Zane, slashing repeatedly as Zane Goldencaster barely dodged each attack. Lei had finshed fixing her spear, and charged at Zane Darkhunter. "So, how would you feel if you were impaled by a spear right now?" Zane Goldencaster asked. Zane Darkhunter turned around and his eyes widened. He stopped attacking Zane Goldencaster and ran away with Lei chasing him. Lei came back with a blood-tipped spear.
Chapter 10: Fixing Reality[]
Meanwhile...
Aaron had been wounded heavily. His entire left arm was ripped off, replaced with a yellow claw. However, he kept standing and attacking. The soul magic overload had been transferring to Ozymandias as Aaron attacked, forcing out the void bit by bit.
Suddenly, green soulfire shot up from the ground in a torrent like a Volcannon. The shriek coming from it was deafening- and the fire was tendriling towards Ozymandias. Ozymandias' eyes widened and was sent flying backwards. Ozymandias' braced for impact as the green soulfire magic blasted towards him again and raised a hand up upon instinct, causing a wall of yellow shards to shoot up, blocking the attack. Ozymandias formed two large hands with the shards and grinned. He fired shards out of them, with Aaron dodging all of them.
Meanwhile, Taro used Forest's Hurricane and launched it at Forbidden Darkness. It had no effect. "What the heck are you?" he asked. Forbidden Darkness chuckled and fired a shadow ball at Taro.
"Rose told me it's some shadow mega boss." Kyle answered.
Taro leapt to the side, narrowly avoiding the shadow ball, but it exploded next to him, sending him flying 2 feet away. He rubbed his head. "Ok, that hurt," he muttered.
Kyle pulled out her Tidus Blade of Waves and ran at Forbidden Darkness. She sliced him in half, but then Forbidden Darkness' body put itself back together.
Alvin pulled out his Blizzard Buster and used Spearicle Crush, putting holes in Forbidden Darkness that repaired themselves. Alvin swung his Blizzard Buster and leapt at Forbidden Darkness, slashing him into three pieces. This time, the pieces did not put itself back together. Alvin grinned. "And thats how you..." his grin faded as the pieces turned into smaller versions into Forbidden Darkness. "Nice try!" the pieces exclaimed in higher pitched voiced. Alvin burst into laughter. "Your voices!" he laughed. The pieces frowned. "Oh great," he muttered as the pieces split up and attacked Kyle, Taro, and Alvin.
"Everyone. Take on one piece of Forbidden Darkness." Kyle ordered. She began to corner one.
The piece promptly phased through her. Kyle struck at the piece. It split into two pieces, and both turned into smaller pieces of Forbidden Darkness. Kyle kept slashing and slashing until the pieces were gone. Alvin proceeded to freeze his piece and shatter it with his Blizzard Buster, creating smaller pieces. Taro used Forest's Hurricane to pick his piece and Alvin's pieces, and toss them at Kyle to hack to bits. "Over to you!" he shouted at Kyle. Kyle kept slashing.
"That's all of them," Alvin remarked.
"Oh." Kyle stopped, and put her Tidus Blade of Waves away.
As the others were fighting, each Darkshade had been at the edge of the universe, voidbending and altering the dimensions, slowly aligning the glitched part of Ozymandias to become normal. Aaron kept forcing the void out of Ozymandias and replacing it with soul. Ozymandias looked at his left arm. He was confused as it was no longer glitched, but yellow shards were coming out of it instead. The soulfire began pulling at his left arm, trying to rip it off. Ozymandias screeched. As a result of this, a portal opened above Cibyl, causing the Light Consumer to phase out of Cibyl and into the portal. "What-" he was cut off as he was sucked into the portal and the portal closed. Cibyl fell backwards, unconscious as the acid dissipated. Harper darted to Cibyl. Harper checked for any scars, injuries...but found none.
Aaron summoned a barrage of what seemed like a million spears. The shards poking out of his body faded into dust with the magic concentration.
"hahaHAHANOSTOPHAHAwhydidyoudothisHEAHAhowamusingSTOPSHUTUP"
Aaron started screaming at the nothing in a torrent of emotion. He then stopped and gave a dead cold stare at Ozymandias.
"they just wanted freedom, king."
And the spears fired.
Ozymandias screamed as all of the spears impaled him. The overload of soul magic plus the void being drained out of Ozymandias caused a disruption in the timeline of his existence, resulting in an error in his current state of existence, decimating him. In other words, Ozymandias was wiped off the plane of existence.
The portals leading the wizards to their respective dimensions opened. The wizards said their goodbyes and left through their portals. Luke reappeared, and the remaining wizards said their goodbyes and left. After they left, a tiny piece of a shadow crawled along the grass until it reached a yellow shard covered with a purple and black substance. It bonded with it and phased into the ground. "I am now your greatest nightmare," he cackled.
Epilogue[]
The Shadowed One walked the very nothing itself, where inexistence nor creation no longer exist.
"May the COALESCE bring the dream of the puppeteer to life..."
He turned, and his scythe flared.
"Isn't that right, you dear friends of mine...?"
A shriek echoed across reality itself, and the universes began to collide once more.
