— The Voidwalker's Tale, a poem unspoken for ages

Luke Darkshade refers to four wizards of parallel existence, created for different purposes and drawn together by multiversal incidents within the void.
Appearance[]
Libra's Scale[]
The original Darkshade. Jet black hair with purple fades due to essence exposure. Dark-colored outfit with long features and void-themed highlights abound. Light skin, purple eyes, and most notably a scar on his right hand that constantly warps with a void parasite that grows in power passively.
Wizard School[]
The shortest Darkshade of the four. Similar physical features, though outfit is generally less extra- extra features, like coat length and such are cut back shorter, and no unnecessary accessories.
Academy's Secret[]
The third Darkshade to come into existence. Outfit has features of medium length, accentuated by purple crystals of both soul and void. More athletic than the other two, though only visible under focused evaluation.
Return of the Wardens[]
The final Darkshade to come into existence. Outfit more closely resembles Black Fang set, with more subdued features themed appropriately for the void. Wears a void-tainted version of the Highlord's Crown that can be reshaped into the form of a stylish hair accessory just above the ear.
Personality[]
LS[]
The big one. The Darkshade that does all the things. Personality varies depending on situation, going from stoic calm and slight apathy at neutral to dramatic and emotional when in situations of dire importance. Meticulous and resolute in planning and purpose. Prone to coffee mug breakage, likes it black.
WS[]
The least mature of the three antagonist Darkshades, far more laid-back and whimsical (for lack of a better word). Consistently flexible with many situations, little variance in temperament. Prefers coffee with the milk.
AS[]
The most mature of the three antagonist Darkshades, beating out LS by being consistent. Calm and methodical, as a being born of recombined Aarons should be. Left to clean up any messes WS runs into (read: makes), and the best close-up fighter of the three.
RW[]
Cordial and composed, though not without times of frustration and dryness. Able to fight back strong emotions well, leaving his demeanor consistent unless willing otherwise. Inflexible on moral principles and values. Accepts offers to get coffee, but orders lemonade instead.
Weapons/Gear[]
LS[]
Duality's Edge- A scythe twisted by energies of both Creation and Void due to multiversal shenaniganery. Its base form is a staff with extending claws and a crystal twisting with white and black essence mounted to the top. This crystal projects a versatile blade of dual energy that can change shape and split apart.
Voidfang (LS)- A hood twisted by the void, unrecognizable from its base state as the Black Fang helmet. More akin to a cloak at this point, shaped by purple essence.
Voidwalker's Shroud (LS)- An outfit twisted by the void, only vaguely related to its base state as the Black Fang Coat. Thinner than its original form, with less bulky attachments and more symmetrical design. The cape twists at the end with essence, and the main coat is far more practical with hidden padding. Extended coat end that reaches down to ankles, connective sash replaced by two thinner straps connecting one side of the coat with the other at the front.
WS[]
Voidshard Cluster- A staff topped with a great cluster of Void and soul crystals. Able to amplify and draw on the power of its wielder to summon hordes and beasts of incredible power and number, but not at all suited for direct combat.
Voidfang (WS)- A hood and cape dyed black and purple from the Void. Not always worn.
Voidwalker's Shroud (WS)- Similar to that of LS, but with shorter features.
AS[]
Wretched Soul- A greatscythe with a blade composed of jagged soul crystal. Able to break and reform at the will of any user proficient enough in soul magic. Emits soul dust passively, which accumulates quickly in the air around the blade.
Voidfang (AS)- Irrelevant. He does not wear this.
Voidwalker's Shroud (AS)- Accentuated with void and soul crystals at the joints and patterned from the waist down with these materials. More practical for close-range combat, with visible defensive features around vital points.
RW[]
Black Claw- An abyssal scythe composed of RW's own void magic. The handle is intangible to anyone but its true wielder, and the weapon can change shape to execute the spells he invents. Grows in power by absorbing void essence.
Deeplord's Eye- A void-tainted version of the Highlord's Crown. Allows full, effortless omniscience within the Void, but requires a high reserve of power to do so, which RW just so happens to have. Able to transform into a more convenient hair accessory above the ear.
Voidwalker's Shroud (RW)- Similar to that of LS, but with a more conserved, almost ergonomic design- shorter coat ends, cut into tails, and notably gauntlets lined with void crystal that bear ancient script, in truth translated incantations for RW to read off of when casting spells. Also a pouch for a spellbook in the back, just above the waist and hidden under the coat.
Abilities[]
Powers/Abilities[]
All[]
Void Control- Self-explanatory. Not quite magic, moreso manipulation. Allows for creation of constructs, summoning of creatures, and void phasing, allowing rapid mobility and intangibility on demand.
Void Mastery- As far as Voidwalkers go, the Darkshades are the originals- their knowledge of how it works at base (just Void, isolated) exceeds any being aside from the pseudo-elemental itself.
Failsafes- Voidwalkers have a natural reserve of void healing power that can allow them to regenerate even fatal wounds. This tends to total up to around 3 fatal wounds before running out, and these 3 reserves are known as failsafes. These can be restored by absorbing great amounts of void energy, or dying and being pulled from voidwalker purgatory by an outside force.
Walker's Last Stand- A state activated in the dying moments of a Voidwalker, if remembered. Boosts their power for a limited time to massive levels, and causes instant death upon the Last Stand expiring. Any remaining Void essence is forcefully ejected in the form of an explosion upon final death.
LS[]
Entity Link- LS was given his void powers due to a scar inflicted by the shockwave of a clash between Founding Entities. Hence, the background energy of that duel ended up inside of his hand scar, allowing him to grow in power the more the ENTITIES act and especially quarrel. This has caused him to grow in power exponentially when compared to other beings, but does not make him immortal- in situations where he is outmatched, such as direct combat against an opponent of higher caliber, he can still be damaged and killed.
CONSOLE Manipulation- LS is able to operate the console with ease, and knows much about it. He's done things with its power far beyond any of its other users.
True Awareness- LS is keenly aware of his own lack of real existence due to Entity Link. This gives him a heightened plane of thought, and allows him to more easily interact with things above his dimensional level- ENTITIES, the effects of the CONSOLES, even the narrative itself sometimes.
WS[]
Horde Mastery- WS has utterly mastered the art of summoning and manipulating void creatures and constructs in his favor, down to a science. This allows him to manipulate the battlefield and create armies with a twitch of a finger, at the cost of his strength.
CONSOLE Knowledge- WS has limited understanding of the CONSOLE, but this is enough for him to do things. Various things.
AS[]
Soul Magic- Due to being a complete version of Aaron, AS is able to use soul magic. This allows him to convert souls into crystal, taking the form of dust or larger clusters. This magic is versatile both offensively, defensively, and outside of combat.
RW[]
Void Magic- He invented the whole system. The first spells. He knows what he's doing, and how to do it well.
CONSOLE Knowledge- His knowledge of the practical uses of the CONSOLEs is sufficient for any realistic scenario.
Rift Tearing- RW's scythe can tear open rifts within the void on its own, which tends to make him a bit of a void chauffeur for others.
Strengths[]
LS[]
Combat Skill- Though not fast enough to keep up with characters consumed by utter bloodlust, LS is a considerable threat in combat, able to put up a difficult fight against any opponent with a combat style mixing both Void skill and scythe combat.
Intelligence- LS has demonstrated thorough understanding of complicated, even extradimensional concepts and repercussions, and has been smart enough to strategize around them or with them.
Interdimensional Coffee Joint Judgement- Look, you do this long enough, you make a pretty accurate tier list inside your head. If you're willing to drop by his tower once in a while, he's not against giving you some pointers on where to get your caffeine from.
WS[]
Short- To the point where he's actually more difficult to hit. Not substantially, but enough to make a difference.
Creativity- A necessary skill for a master of the horde, WS is crafty and versatile in how he uses his skills. Able to specialize summoned objects and creatures to a given situation easily.
AS[]
Close-Quarters Combat Skill- As far as straight-up scythe skill goes, AS is a tough one. Best taken on in numbers, because one-on-one, his skill with Wretched Soul and supporting soul magic is to be respected, if not feared.
Level-headed- AS is the most consistently calm of the three antagonist Darkshades. Unless overexerted with the animus part of soul magic or void manipulation, he's harder to get off-balance.
RW[]
Void Magic Theory- He literally invented it.
Void Understanding- You spend your entire life in a strange darkness dimension, you understand it. Become part of it. RW subconsciously knows about the state of the whole void, and is able to determine the cause of any changes easily. His knowledge of the workings of the void is also deep and intricate.
Weaknesses[]
LS[]
Combat Aggression- LS has had a history of being taken down by very angry people who know how to fight. It's harder for him to respond to an aggressive fighting style than a defensive one.
Existentiality- LS understands that his multiverse will eventually be forgotten and thrown away. The notion has made him a little wacky wonky in the head over the topic.
Plan Aversion- Changes to LS' plots are really difficult to make because they tend to span on such a large scale. Having them ruined by something is difficult to recover from, and gets him emotionally off-kilter the fastest.
Really Bad Coffee- Hates it. Absolutely despises it. More than a meaningless existence. Just... just absolutely disgusted by badly-made coffee.
WS[]
Combat Ineptitude- WS is completely helpless when it comes to fighting for himself. He can endure punishment, but can't deal it back himself, and relies on his horde and his constructs to be effective.
Short- hehe little tiny baby man hehe
Aggravation- WS has a shorter temper than the other Darkshades. Easy to get off-balance.
AS[]
Soul Animus- The repercussion of excessive use of soul magic is a fast gnawing at the sanity of its user. Though AS has a natural tolerance to it, it isn't infinite, so he has to hold himself back for his own sake.
RW[]
Voidbound- RW was brought to the void separately from a multiverse-breaking event. As a result, he cannot leave the void, for any purpose. He'll fade from reality within the span of a minute or shorter if not accompanied by another void user to give him a variation of a pocket dimension to occupy, and that requires immense mastery and power.
Backstory[]
You want that rebellion, boy? A bounty hunter of incredible prestige wanders among the streets of Lamplight Town, under cover of starlight. His gaze wanders to what appears to be a meteor, crashing through the dark of space. But the flare gets closer. Bigger. You want that freedom? The bounty hunter instinctively prepares a spell, but immediately recalls it- what was it going to do against... whatever that was? An overwhelming presence of forces beyond nature fills the town. Pedestrians and citizens wake and watch their windows. Some are scared. Others embrace family. The majority watch and listen. You want to be different from them all? The sound of a hand-to-plastic battle echoes as if the district were a valley- the noises boneshaking. More and more people succumb to their own fear or confusion, slamming their windows shut and closing the blinds or hiding under their covers. The presence magnifies- the pressure immense. Then embrace it. The bounty hunter looks on at the light. Two figures float there, battling in a nigh-intangible form of combat. They are but a blur and sound clashing against each other as the light brightens. It's almost blinding, but the bounty hunter keeps watching. The energy of their fight saturates the air, magic magnifying. Use the change. The bounty hunter steps closer to the fight. The tension of the onslaught from both ends begins to build up, almost at the tangible climax. Go on. Take the opportunity. The beings reel back and prepare a final clash. Revel in your freedom. Lamplight Town is obliterated. An explosion fills the center of the Prodigy peninsula. The bounty hunter is launched into the void, meeting up with one of the beings that caused the fight. His legacy begins its writing.
Trivia[]
- He was originally meant to be the temple keeper in the Libra's Scale roleplay.
