The Multiplayer & Messaging Update is for Prodigy English. Like with the Prodigy chat feature, this will allow players in either singleplayer or multiplayer to join with each other and send messages from a list of preprogrammed words and phrases.
Storyline[]
Unlike other updates, the storyline is short and is only triggered when the player enters or re-enters their village. The Unnamed Wishie enters a short set of lines that the player responds to by sending their first message. In order for this to be unlocked, the player must have already put the Village Market Stall to Level 1 or greater. Otherwise, this information would be added to the player's tutorial after they fix the stall.
Unnamed Wishie: It looks like you fixed the market stall. Good for you!
Unnamed Wishie: I have some new features for you to try out now that other humans are coming over.
- Player: What are those?
Unnamed Wishie: The first one is a messaging feature. You can send invitations and messages of your own design to other players!
- A blue envelope button appears at the bottom left of the screen and is highlighted in bright blue.
Unnamed Wishie: If you use that button, you either have the option to go to another player's world, get invitations, or send invitations.
- The player presses the button and enters a beige-colored interface with a red BACK button at the top right, a green USE MULTIPLAYER button on the left, another green RECEIVE INVITATION button in the middle, and another green SEND INVITATION button on the right.
Unnamed Wishie: Let's start by finding what your village area code is. Click on the correct button.
- The green button on the left lights up. The player clicks on it and finds their 10-character (case-sensitive) village code at the top of the new screen and can enter a different code at the bottom to go to a different village.
Unnamed Wishie: It looks like your village area code is [village area code]. It won't change and you'll keep it forever.
Unnamed Wishie: You can also visit other villages by entering their codes in. My village's code is ANI-MAL-IA01. Try joining it!
- The player enters the Unnamed Wishie's area code and presses the blue TRAVEL button to the right, then loads into a limitless empty field occasionally dotted with sand and water.
Unnamed Wishie: If you would ever like to return back to your own village, you can always return. The red BACK button next to the envelope button should do the trick.
- A red BACK button spawns next to the envelope button. The player returns to their own village.
Unnamed Wishie: Great! Now, let's try getting an invitation.
- The envelope button lights up again and the player enters the interface, and then the middle button lights up. The player enters the next interface and is prompted to look through their invitations.
Unnamed Wishie: Huh. It looks like you may or may not have invitations, but that doesn't matter right now. Go back so we can try sending an invitation.
- The red BACK button lights up, and the player clicks on it. Then, the player's right green button lights up, so the player clicks on it. They are prompted to create a string of words using phrases. "Would you like to be my friend?" is the only autofill available.
Unnamed Wishie: You might want to start with a simple message--"Would you like to be my friend?" Here, click on it and send it to someone.
- The player prepares the invitation, exits the interface, and appears to have a manila-colored envelope in their hand. Before they do anything, they have to provide the envelope to the person who is currently soliciting the Village Market Stall.
Person Soliciting the Stall: Thank you for this message. I will read it and get back to you when I can!
Unnamed Wishie: See, that was easy. Now you know how to visit other villages, receive invitations, and send invitations.
Unnamed Wishie: I also have a simpler chat feature available to you.
- A blue speech bubble button appears to the left of the envelope button at the bottom left. It lights up, and the player clicks on it.
Unnamed Wishie: Here, you can send shorter messages to players in multiplayer. If you try to talk to someone at the market stall with this feature, they won't respond!
Unnamed Wishie: That's why they appear like little yellow words above your head. They can't see them without their glasses for some reason.
Unnamed Wishie: Anyway, you can send simple messages using all kinds of words. Remember to be polite when you use them!
Unnamed Wishie: Here, type anything and see if there is an autofill for that word! Press the blue SEND button when you're done!
- The player does as is asked of them.
Unnamed Wishie: Great job! Now that I think you have all of those features down pat, you'll be fine on your own.
Unnamed Wishie: Good luck!
