Heads Up - Background[]
The Onyx stone takes place sometime AFTER the puppet-master is defeated, however he still left a legacy, and so did the order of the influence. Now; shadow magic is a good thing, and used in good ways, or it's suppose to. Here comes a new... uh thing... It's technically not an element, and definitely not shadow magic, it's worse, way worse.

C1: Loss (841 words)[]
Grim stood on the end of the hill, staring down at the village. They were holding some type of festival, lights flashed in several colors; each stood for an element. He sat down adjusting his mask, afraid someone can see through. Corrin, the closest thing he has to a father, comes up to Grim, trilling. Grim greeted Corrin with a smile. And the two went inside the cave, shutting the door. Tri, Amp, Watt, Zap and Zip were inside, asleep. Grim sat next to them staring at the crystals. They each had a color like one of the lights. Then there was that one, it was broken. He went to it picking it off the cave, and it turned to dust. Grim walked out, he needed the ancient's advice, this was not normal. He made his way to harmony island. He came to the Ancient and explained what happened.
Ancient [nervously] : This has not happened before...
Grim: I thought so...
Grim stumbled upon this many times after, and it spread fast, he and his family had to find a new home, without crystals. The Ancient went to look at it themselves, and when they got there, it was all broken crystals, stone, or dust. The Ancient destroyed the cave, making sure nothing leaves, or enters. Grim and his family, where adjusting to their new home, unfortunately close to activity. Grim had the worst problem, everything tried to battle him. Ansat was one wizard. Grim was on his own, with his siblings, when he was ambushed. A black-haired male stood atop him, pinning him. Out of pure fear, Grim shot him with a shadow ball, but that made it worse. Zap and zip, being braver, began shocking Ansat. Ansat shot zap and zip with an astral spell. Grim shot Ansat with more shadow balls, until Ansat backed down, which was not easy. Grim got up check on zip and zap, they were as good as they could be.
Ansat: You and your pets are quite strong, considering I did it single-handedly.
Grim [crying out] : Pets? No, no, thes- these are my brothers.
Ansat: Brothers? sure...
Grim: The closes thing I have to a 'pet' are these crystal monsters.
He creates one.
Grim: They keep attacking people though...
As he said that the monster went and attacked Ansat, proving him right. Ansat shot it with astral spells, shattering it. Out of nowhere two girls come out of the forest, battling a creature. Ansat jumped in, uncertain of the opponent. Then, out came a wizard, he was covered in broken crystals, like a fungus, or a parasite, but either way, they did not seem in control of themselves. Ansat was confused, shocked even. Grim was confused as well. All he knew was he must protect his brothers. Another wizard came about on his embershed, the embershed attacked the infected wizard. The wizard was attacking everyone. The embershed landed, Jackson signed for him to stay. Ansat, Jackson, Kylie, and Quinn head for the infected wizard, and attack with all they had. But nothing seemed worked. Quinn, out of ideas, decided to throw rocks at it. Suddenly, out of nowhere the crystals were destroyed, and the wizard was back to normal. They ran off, without a word, without a shout. The crystal left an ash, everyone would remain perplexed and began to talk.
Kylie [to Q] : We should tell someone.
Ansat: I think we should not, who is going to believe us?
Quinn: Oh, quit being a baby!
Jackson: I am with the girls.
Ansat: Oh, come on!
At the end of the following day, they went to the Academy. When they arrived, no one was in sight, suddenly everything black. When the lights came back on, they were in a new room, but Choryrth was not insight. Out of panic Jackson got up but was pulled down by an unknown force. A figure was at the door but left. Jackson began to struggle.
Quinn: It is obviously not working!!
Jackson continued.
Ansat: I didn’t even want to be here!!
Quinn: Oh hush, do not act like you have it worse!
Jackson was still struggling. Grim was terrified, he did not know if this was normal, but he assumed not, by their reaction. Kylie seemed distress. Suddenly a woman came in.
?: Uhm... why are you in the closet?
Quinn: Who knows...
The woman managed to free them.
Kylie: So... who are you?
?: Willow, Willow Wishwisper.
Ansat [sarcastically] : Oh the ‘moon’ witch
Quinn: How do you make friends with that?
Kylie: [Sigh] Sorry about them, they do not seem to communicate nicely...
Willow: It is fine! And your friend there, with the blue hair, is he ok?
Willow pointed at Jackson, who was looking for Choryrth.
Kylie: Uhm... looking for his embersh-
Jackson: CHOR.YTH.
A group walked by one focused on the room and called the others. The group entered the room and Jackson bolted but was stopped. The group began attacking. Jackson struggled but was unsuccessful. Nobody was successful; everyone lost in one hit.
C2: Woodsfond (748 words)[]
After a while, everyone woke up in a crystal forest, well except Choryrth, and Jackson. The team looked around; they were stuck together now. They began to look around, it was nothing but crystal for miles. Who knows where they were. They all decided to move forward. Eventually they find a small house, out of options, they knock on the door. A man opens.
Willow: Ayyye King
King: Willow! What brings you here?
Willow: No clue.
King: and..
king gestures to the several children behind her.
Willow: Oh.. uh.. Ansat, Kylie, Quinn, and Grim.
King: Are they..
Willow: no.
King supplies directions to the nearest towne, Woodsfond. Woodsfond was not close, the forest goes on for miles, and the ‘trees’ had crystals growing out of them, and were packed, tight. King knew how to get to & from the forest, so he, and Pip, went with them. The city was quite large, but not huge. Several people try to buy and sell items. One went by ‘the collector’ as his name says he tried to buy, he offered coins, old copper coins, items, and whatever he had on him. Before they could answer a merchant told him off, he refused. Others around them tried to stop both, not really caring who started the whole problem. This eventually turns into a duel, the first hit can from the merchant. The collector shot a few hits that missed, the misses seemed purposeful, the merchant, however, did not. Eventually the collector just stopped, which resulted in the merchant frozen in fear, and leaving. The collector left in the opposite direction. The team, unsure of what just happened, continued. They come across a map, finally. The map did not just label the city, but the crystal forest & surrounding areas. On the map a kingdom named ‘void kingdom,’ to the west of them was another named ‘Salris,’ surrounding Woodsfond & Salris was the crystal forest, which was named ‘Kalri,’ and a few labeled ruins, one of which was castle label ‘lost palace’ not too far north from the void kingdom. Yet, not knowing where they were going, the map was useless, but they still took a smaller version with them. They continued, going deeper into the city. In what they think is the towne center, they find the collector, who seems to have made a successful trade. Suddenly the earth shook, enough to trip people (and animals), too weak to bring down anything else. Out came an animal, or that what it should be, it had the shape of an embershed, yet covered in crystals. Well, whatever it was, it was not happy. The embershed took anything down it saw. A few wizards attacked, but was not successful, it was not weak to anything. After a minute Grim & the group remembered the crystals (excepted willow b/c she was not there), but they struggled to defeat the last one, however they knew one thing; it was weak to a type of rock, but which? The embershed did not come along, a wizard appeared, in the exact crystals, their face obscured by them, only the eyes were slightly visible. Most people left the town, except an extremely limited amount, like no more than 15. The group (the main people) tried to figure out what to do, they have extremely limited information. Out came a tall man, he had an overcoat, with fur. And a pair of goggles on his head and white & light blue hair. He stood between the infected embershed & wizard. He casts a spell, a strange spell, nothing ever seen by anyone there. Both infected show damage, both flee. Slowly people return, the tall man leaves. The collector stood nearby. Grim did not understand how to respond, he could not tell if this was normal, well for the city people at least. Everyone eventually returned. The collector went back to his normal business. The group looks over the small map and decide that they are going to the nearest city, Salris. After a day they reach the end of Woodsfond. At this point it is dark, and they were not going to risk it, most of them at least. They stay at a tavern. When the sun came back up, they moved on to the forest. It only took about an hour or so to get across, and into Salris. According to the map, this city was larger than Woodsfond. They had no idea where they were going really.
C3: Salris (497 words)[]
Salris was filled with people, way too many. They decided to walk forward, whichever way that was. They eventually got to a small shop, full of random things, yet still categorized. They decide to change outfits. Kylie chose a sundress, Quinn picked a hoodie and a skirt, and Ansat swapped his blue jacket, for a poofy one. Grim torn the sleeves off his cloak and put on a turtleneck. While checking out, Grim’s arm was in a bit of pain. He looked over and saw his infection spreading to his arm. He brushes off, hoping no one will notice. They leave the shop and continue. As they travel on, they grow hungry. They find themselves at a diner, a small one. They decide to stop there. There, they meet Mimi Wondersong. They, at the time, paid no attention to her. They ordered and ate. The ground began to shake in a familiar way. The embershed and wizard had returned. Any bystander in the diner ran out from the diner . The embershed and wizard began to attack. Ansat, Mimi, Willow, Kylie, and Quinn tried to attack, which had insignificant effect.
In came the man from before, he held 2 small vials, which contained a thick black substance. He threw the vials at them, which shattered the crystals. The wizard and embershed had vanished. Grim was confused but noticed his infection growing increasingly worse. He tried his best to hide it with his hand to not draw attention.
Mimi: Hello!
Kylie: Hi!
Mimi: Do you know what that was?
Kylie: Um.. not really, no.
Ansat: Thing attacked us before..
Mimi: huh...
Quinn: It was not weak to anything either.
Mimi: Oh… maybe I can help stop it!
Kylie: I mean, why not?
They continued. They walked for what seemed like hours; they grew quite tired. It eventually got dark, they could partially see the forest, which was a part of Kalri. They decide to stop at a tavern, looking for a place to sleep. Most of them established a spot to sleep and quickly slipped away, Quinn did not, she could not. Quinn was glancing up and saw a strange cloud, it was not a normally cloud, not being grey or whit, it was full of colors. After a few seconds she blacked out. When she awoke, she was in a strange place, it was like the academy, but warped. Out of nowhere a person appeared. He noticed her and ran up to here.
?: HELLO!!
Quinn: Uhm.. hi?
?: What is your name??
Quinn: Who even are you?
?: My name is Neon!!
Quinn: All right…
Neon: What is your name?!?
Quinn: Uhm… Quinn??
Neon: Quinn… Quinny!!
Quinn: Uh no, “Quinn”.
Neon: Ok, Quinny! Candy?
Quinn: No thank you?
Neon stood there confused.
Neon : Why noOot???
Quinn: Because I do not want any?
Neon [saddened] : Oh… ok…
Quinn woke up to Ansat and Kylie yelling.
Quinn: (What was that…)
After a bit, the group starts to Raven.
C4: Raven (462 words)[]
After they entered Raven, they got a dreadful feeling. Everyone stares at them, with this almost scared look. It did not seem as if they were afraid of them; everyone there was either an elf or fairy. No wizards were present. A few of them attempted to go out of view. Eventually they found themselves at a castle wall. Guards arrested them. They were put in cells, but they were decent and well kept. Eventually a small fairy appeared in the room. Across the cold iron bars, it could be seen that he had black hair with a white streak. His sclera was black, his iris was white. The guards kept out of his way, as if he would send them to prison if they refused to move.
?: Why are you here wizards?
Ansat: Who even-
?: Nightbutterfly. Only call me such. You people are not allowed here.
Mimi: What did we do?
Nightbutterfly: Wizards are prohibited from Raven.
Ansat: Says who?
Nightbutterfly: I, the king, do
Mimi: You seem young for a king.
Nightbutterfly seemed insulted; the guards showed signs of fear.
Nightbutterfly: Your kind took my parents.
Kylie: Oh… We mean no harm-
Nightbutterfly [Exasperated, sighs] : That is what they all say.
Ansat: Look, we are just trying to go across, not stay.
Nightbutterfly: Watch it.
Quinn [to A] : Do you have a death wish?!?
Ansat [to Q] : Well maybe I do!
Nightbutterfly: Do I need separate the two of you?
Quinn: I will gladly separate from him.
Ansat: One of these days Quinn, I swear.
Nightbutterfly: Guards, do not just stand there, fix this!
The guards split Ansat and Quinn, but that did not stop them from arguing.
Nightbutterfly: Do you two mind?
Ansat: She-
Mimi [to A] : Just stop.
Ansat: Wh- Fine…
Nightbutterfly [Continually exasperated] : (Why are they all like this?) Leave them here, I will decide in the morning.
Nightbutterfly exited, the guards had also left. They were there the whole night and as he stated, Nightbutterfly came back in the morning.
Nightbutterfly: Ok, here is the plan. I may allow you to live, however, you are not permitted to be here.
Kylie: Ok…
Nightbutterfly: You will be escorted out of Raven. ANY refusal will lead to execution. Clear?
Kylie: Y-yeah…
Nightbutterfly: I will ensure this. I am coming with you.
Mimi: All right then…
Nightbutterfly released them, and they began to head out of Raven. This time people were shocked. Nightbutterfly showed no sign of acknowledgement. They find themselves at so-and-so location, once Raven was outside their field of vision. Nightbutterfly noticed the change.
Nightbutterfly: Alright then, you are where you need to be, I do not want to see you in Raven again.
There was a hesitant, worried agreement.
C5: Prail (? words)[]
They were in Prail, they decided to rest. Quinn ended up back with Neon.
Neon: Quinny, Your back!!!
Quinn: Quinn. Yes, I am back…
Neon: why do you keep leaving!!!
Quinn: It is not like I can help it…
Neon: WeLl, you are back!! Candy???
Quinn: Still no. Where even am I??
Neon: Transport!!!
Quinn stood there confused.
Quinn: And that is…?
Neon: No clue, I just showed up here and could not leave.. wait how do you leave???
Quinn: I wake up..?
Neon: Ooo! I wanna do that, how???
Quinn: Uhm, I do not know..
Neon stood confused.
Meanwhile, somewhere else, was Jackson, who was barely conscious, a green-haired person, and a person with teal hair. The “somewhere else” was Prail, between Salris and the sea.
Jackson[Still a bit fuzzy] : What the…re-??
?[green] : Sup.
?[teal] : Jackson??
Jackson: Redtide? [fully conscious] WHATTHE- RED- HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN-FROST??? HUH??
Redtide: A while. You kind of just landed here, and we decided to stay to PrOtEcT you.
Jackson: Redtide… Just. No… Just no.
Redtide: What? Don’t you like u-
Jackson [interrupting] : No.
Redtide: It was a rhet-.
Jackson [interrupting and sarcastically] : No really?

Frost: Please stop…
Jackson: …Wh…Where is Choryrth?
Redtide: Uhh… he was very hurt. I sent him to a shelter to heal, and back to the nest, so he can relax and fully heal.
Jackson: So, he is ok?
Redtide: Did… did you NOT HEAR ME?!
Jackson: Just double checking.
Redtide: Mmm
Jackson: So where are we?
Redtide: Uhm… Some forest
Jackson: Because I could not see the MANY trees surrounding us.

Frost: Isaidstop
Jackson, Frost, and Redtide decided to go forward, or what they thought was forward, there was not much of a path around Jackson was worried about Choryrth, even though he did not show it. Frost and Redtide seemed to take some form of lead, occasionally trying to one up each other, without trying to seem narcissistic. Elsewhere was the others. Quinn was still with Neon, wherever that is. The two had a falling out.
Neon: You’re being mean…
Neon shot a spell swapping him and Quinn.
Neon: I wanna wake up this time…
Quinn: What n-
Before Quinn could do anything Neon vanished. Neon awakens where Quinn would have been. He looked like her, but his eyes were there, instead of hers, the others did not really notice. What caused them to get concerned was the continuous candy eating and 2-year-old personality that Quinn never had.
Kylie: Are you alright Quinn?
Neon: ???Quinny???
Kylie: Uhm.. sorry?
Neon: You said Quinny’s here!! Where???
Ansat: Aren’t you..?
Neon: Neon!!!!
Kylie: Where is Quinn? And why do you look like her?
Neon: I look like Quinn???
Ansat: Do you not notice these things??
Neon: <:)>
Ansat: Clearly not..
Neon: Do you want candy??
Neon shoves candy into Ansat’s face, upsetting him.
Ansat: Wh..? NO!
Neon is drawn back from Ansat yelling at him.
Mimi: Ansat, calm down!

Neon is saddened over the fact no one wants his candy.
Ansat: What even are they made of??
Neon pulled up a few rocks, leaves, sticks, whatever he could find and have. He laid down all these items, and each of shifted into a candy, some even changing color.
Mimi: That- I do not think that is possible.
Neon shrugs. He picked them all up and put them in a little bag that he has. It was filled with other candies made of various things.
Ansat: (Who needs that much candy??)
Kylie: Again, where is Quinn??
Neon: She’s probably still in transport!!!
A/K/M: Where?
Neon: Transport!
Ansat [sarcastically] : Oh thanks, that helps!
Neon: Ok!
Ansat: That was- Are you-
Neon skips in a similar direction they we originally going in, the others follow, mostly to not lose Quinn. After a while they find some sort of river. Neon’s actual refection appears in the river, leaving others confused. Neon happily skips around in the water. The others try to stop him from creating an injury. Eventually night falls, the others still chasing Neon around the river, the others somewhat give up, exhausted, and tries to sleep. Neon, on the other hand doesn’t, he refuses. The river also had other plans, shifting from a clear-blue, to a glowing white. Neon got curious and entered the river. Neon vanished. Leaving only Quinn, the actual one. The next morning the other woke up to see Quinn soaked but asleep. They, unknowing of what happened, wake her up. They found out quickly that Quinn was back. Neon was… he did not know where he was[RD(1] . Suddenly, he heard voices. He followed the voices, they were coming from Jackson, Redtide and Frost. Neon ran up to all of them jumping onto the closest person.
Frost: ACK!
Neon: HELLO!!!!!
Jackson: What in the…
Neon: <:)>
Frost: pl ea se ge t of f my ba ck.
Neon: OK!!!
Neon jumps off, Frost falls forward onto the ground.
Redtide: Who even are yo-
Neon [interrupting] : NEON!!!!
