Harmony Island is a combat-based location in Prodigy with some of the most grueling battle setups, nearly matching the harshness of the Dark Tower when playing Rune Run. Here are some tips on how to survive hard mode Rune Runs and the island boss, the Ancient, during their trials.
Tips for Both[]
Before players enter a Rune Run or one of the Ancient's trials, they should be careful to attach pets that can withstand the most damage (members of the Bitbot evolution chain, members of the Pokkit chain, Mimic, and Sprike). Attach the three of the greatest level of heart bonus runes to each of them, and add some to the player themselves. Equip equipment that has the greatest heart and damage bonuses. Keep the player in the front at all times, if possible. Have the player equip their strongest normal relic, preferably one of the five Powerful Relics.
Rune Running[]
Players all enter a Rune Run interface where they are able to select which run they wish to partake in. Players should primarily focus on collecting Heart Bonus Runes and secondarily focus on collecting Damage Bonus Runes. Critical Chance up and Critical Damage are interdependent and do not do much in the way of surprise additional damage, so players should avoid these. Additionally, Elemental Bonus and Damage Resistance are only effective in battles against stronger and weaker pets.
After entering a run, players should focus on running for receiving as many rewards as possible by battling the most monsters, or they should focus on getting the most of their desired runes as possible by only battling the monsters they need to battle and heading straight through the easier paths. Hardmode Rune Runs are best for the earlier purpose as there has been no statistical observation stating that players have a greater probability the runes at the end of the run by using the hardmode.
Players that wish to enter hardmode for their run should click on both of the jagged, red teleportation stones at the end of the first and second quarters of the run. The first time that they play Rune Run is the only time where a popup shows after the first quarter of their run, explaining that using red teleportation stones is the more difficult path to take despite the greater chance of obtaining Harmony Island-specific equipment and buddies, team food, and team potions.
Keep in mind that there is less of a probability of having the player's and pets' hearts restored to maximum after each battle in hardmode. They should be careful to provide themselves food so as to survive the near-endless attacks of each of the two or three monsters that are present on hardmode levels in quarters 2 and 3 of the run.
The Ancient's Trials[]
In battle, the Ancient is a difficult foe. They have all of the spells from the ancient relics available to them, and can cast spells of all elements except for the Shadow element. Players should use a Team Resist All used for their very first turn to prevent significant damage. Have the player lead their party at most times, but do not attempt to switch back if the Ancient uses Spot Switch or Switch Lock. If any members of the party have disabled spells that cost no energy due to the Ancient's use of Spell Lock, they should use their alternate spell that costs no energy until their other spell is unlocked.
The Ancient has a great amount of health and damage. To combat their power the player should use as many team food items as possible when not focused on damaging the Ancient. They have no way of healing themselves, so the trials are only a quest of endurance.
