Deleted Scenes[]

Kyle felt somewhat awkward. "You can start over. It's just us who know about this. You could, well, get amnesia. Become a new you. I read a book about this somewhere. Well, anyway, a bad life doesn't mean that there isn't a way out. I could help you. We all could," Kyle said but then stopped and muttered, "Well maybe not Aaron." Aaron gave a piercing glare to Kyle, the kind that stabs through your soul and stops right before it reaches the other side. He then sighed and shook his head- if the others seemed to be okay with this, he'd be too.

Monokuma shrugged. “SPEARS OF GUNGHIR, I SUMMON YOU!” Monokuma yelled. Just then, 15 spears appeared underneath Lucy, and promptly impaled her from all sides. Blood sprayed everywhere like a funtown carnival's dunk pool after the clown falls in when you throw the ball right. The spears were tinted crimson: the blood had been pretty much absorbed. Faint yellow dust rose from the body. Aaron summoned a shard and the dust flew towards it, eventually... fusing with it. The crystal dissapears into a puff of yellow smoke that absorbs into Aaron.

Kyle screamed. She was used to people dying but not that brutally. "THAT'S INHUMANE!!! HOW COULD YOU KILL SOMEONE LIKE THAT?" she yelled.

Monokuma shrugged. "Puhuhu! What do you think happened to Rose? However, Lucy was right about one thing. The one behind the bear mask is the wolf," he said as he phased through the floor, yet again.

Taro thought for a moment. The one behind the bear mask is the wolf, he thought. The bear must be Monokuma, but who is the wolf? It can't be Zane. He's dead, he thought, Right?

[End Trial]

Chapter 2[]

Kyle thought skeptically at what Lucy said. Wolf. Is the Wolf. Zane was one of the stereotypes and he was a wolf. No. Noooooo way. Kyle ran to Zane's room, and surely enough, the body was gone. They couldn't have cleaned up because there's blood everywhere. Kyle thought as she inspected the room.

Taro appeared behind Kyle. "Where is Zane's body?" he asked.

Kyle was terrified. "Not dead. That's for sure..."

"That's not possible," Taro replied, terrified, "he had a stab wound going straight through his stomach!" Then Lei and Aaron appeared behind them. Kyle saw something in the corner of the room. She walked over to the other side of the bed and lying there was a human heart, turned to stone. Kyle screamed in terror and reeled over, sick to her stomach. Taro almost threw up. Lei screamed. Aaron-well, he seemed unfazed by the events. Suddenly, the human heart slowly faded into dust that floated away.

"W-w-was that Z-zane's?" Kyle stuttered as she slowly inspected the area. Taro did not respond. Instead he looked at the dust float away. They appeared to float away in a condensed, snake-like formation. Then, he followed it out the door. Kyle ran out after Taro to see what was going on. "What the hell was that?" she asked.

"The remains of the heart," he replied. Kyle watched the trail of dust with interest. "Who's was it though? Do you think maybe it has to do with Zane? OOOH IT COULD BE A SYMBOL of SOMETHING!" Kyle chirped as she skipped along behind the trail. Taro followed the trail of dust to a door. A locked one to be specific. Inside, he heard some voices. One sounded like Monokuma's. Taro followed the trail of dust to a door. A locked one to be specific. Inside, he heard some voices. One sounded like Monokuma's. "What are you going to do with the clone?" the voice asked. "I'll deal with it later," another voice replied. It sounded like Zane, but older.

Aaron smirked slightly. Clone... His origins were ever-faint in his mind, but he knew. He knew much too well. If the clone was him, then he knew he'd eventually have to go. However... No way in hell is he gonna die without taking one of them with him. Taro levitated one of the Warden Pedestals and smashed it against the door, shattering it apart into nothing but wooden splinters.

"HEY! THAT'S GONNA TAKE FOREVER TO FIX!" Gale yelled at Taro.

"Yeah, sorry," he apologized, placing the cracked pedestal back where it was. He looked at Aaron, Kyle, and Lei only to see them staring at something-or someone- inside the room. He looked inside and was shocked to see what he saw. That can't be! Taro thought, shocked.

Kyle wasn't sure what to do. On one hand, that could be the real Zane. On the other, that wasn't true. That was the bad guy. Wasn't it? "Uhhhh Taro? Can I talk to you?" Kyle asked, gesturing for Taro to follow.

"Sure, why not?" he replied.

"What do we do about this clone? There's a chance that it's just a possessed Zane (DEJA VU) or it could be a completely different body. If Zane is actually still alive then I don't want to risk killing him again. What do you think?" Kyle whispered while keeping an eye on "Zane".

"I think it's the original," Taro shuddered, "I heard Monokuma talk about the 'clone', and he was talking to that Zane. What if...the Zane we knew was a failed clone?"

"What do you think, Aaron?" Taro asked, pointing behind Kyle.

"Wait, but the Zane we knew was good. How could the original be bad?" Kyle wondered aloud as she plopped herself onto the floor.

Kyle watched as Taro and Aaron pondered upon this. "Welp, one way to find out" Kyle stated as she got up. "We just have to meet him." Kyle said as she marched into the room. Taro facepalmed. Kyle tried to act as normal as possible. "Hi Zane, I'm Kyle." She reached her hand out to shake hands but instead was returned with a punch, blowing her across the room. Kyle retreated outside and slumped. "That is definitely not Zane. Zane wouldn't do that to any-" Kyle started to say but then remembered Lucy's broken arm and stopped herself from going any further.

"Alright guys, we need a battle plan-wait where's Priscilla?" Taro asked.

Everyone looked around for Priscilla with no success. "Why does she need to disappear now?" Kyle groaned as she slapped her forehead in exasperation.

Aaron, called by a subroutine activated by an external program on the edge of nonexistence and canonity, knew the truth behind this... "Zane."

...

Aaron threw a shard on the ground.

Purple, not yellow.

The truth, recalled.

Battleblade... no.

"Goldencaster."

Kyle faintly recalled the name. Rose often spoke about her past lives (which of course made Kyle wish she had past lives) and mentioned Zane a lot too. There was also Alvin who Rose hated but Kyle thought was the true hero of the story in that Libra's Scale whatnot.

"Wait, but Zane Goldenhunter was Rose's friend- well- in one of her lives!" Kyle reasoned.

"Not this life," Taro grimaced.

Kyle desperately wanted to prove that Zane was good but even she knew that probably wasn't true. "But- But everyone has something good in them! Right?"

"He must have HAD something good in him...I don't know if that 'good' is still there..." Taro trailed off.

Kyle frowned at Taro's explanation. "Yeah, if he was a zombie. He's clearly alive right now. I'll try again. Maybe he was surprised by my sudden appearance!" Kyle chirped as she skipped off into the room once again.

"Hmph," Zane sighed. He nodded at Monokuma, who grinned. "Spears of-" "No," Zane interupted, "the OTHER one." Monokuma sighed. "Crystal Monsters, attack," he muttered.

Kyle watched as hundreds of little Crystal Monsters rushed at her. Kyle skillfully used them as stepping stones and made her way across to 'Zane'. "Hi, sorry for being a little too sudden last time. I'm Kyle Frostshade, and I believe you are Zane Goldenhunter. Punch me across the room and you get a kick where it counts." Kyle stated as she put her hand out to shake. This time she was returned with a somewhat-friendly handshake and she walked out. "See? Told you. The rest of the group, however, wasn't as enthusiastic. Taro wasn't sure how to respond to this, Lei was completely against this theory, and Aaron was too busy doing his stuff to even care.

She was then promptly levitated into the air and tossed across the room. "I am not Zane Goldenhunter, nor am I Zane Goldencaster. I AM ZANE DARKHUNTER!" he yelled. He threw off his Swift Hood, to reveal purple eyes and black hair, with an irritated expression on his face.

Kyle groaned. "Zane this, Zane that, can you please just choose a name?" she sighed as she promptly limped out of the room.

However, Monokuma was struck with an idea. "What if we can get the girl on our side? She excels in combat and she actually thinks you're good." Monokuma whispered to Zane.

"Sometimes, you actually have good ideas!" he replied. Monokuma frowned.

"Sometimes?" he asked. Zane did not respond.

"You... you're something... different. How anomalous. And I thought I was the only faulty one in this hellhole..." Aaron smirked as he threw two shards on the ground, an area around them forced into a bright yellow-purple gradient. The Crystal Monsters around them seemed to deactivate. "I should have known from the beginning. You... you're completely seperate, yet the same. How could I have been so ignorant... An offshoot from the original strand."

Kyle couldn't help but think about squids right then. "Like a squid and it's tentacles! Or a web with a center and then strands that branch off from it and strands that branch off of those!" She chirped.

Aaron chuckled. One way to put it... "If I could only touch the canonicity and the void as easily as he could... he could have been here. But he exists in a vaulted branch. What a shame..." Aaron began to walk forward, the deactivated crystal monster shards moving aside.

Taro sighed, "Great way to describe the guy who wants us to kill each other."

"Actually, I'm the one who wants you to kill each other!" Monokuma yelled. "He's the one who wants to take over the island!" he yelled, pointing to Zane.

Aaron shot a look at Monokuma for an instant, like a bullet down the barrel of a gun. He continued his stride. A crystal platform rose underneath Kyle's feet, moving and stopping when it reached Darkhunter Zane.

Kyle took a deep breath and tried again. "Hi, you know who I am, please don't throw me this time, that really took a toll on my right leg. Think I sprained it." Kyle said as she rubbed her right knee.

Zane raised an eyebrow. Kyle braced herself in preparation for whatever was coming next, but surprisingly Zane just stood there. "You have got a lot of perseverance...so, what do you want?" Zane asked.

Kyle thought about it. "Nothing really." she replied. Aaron sighed. Taro facepalmed. Kyle had just started to climb off of the podium when giant spears flew at her from all sides. At least I know a lot of dead people. Kyle thought as she embraced her death- but when she opened her eyes, the spears were on the floor and she was lifted into the air by a large crystal pillar. "Whaaaaaaa?" Kyle whispered as she looked over, and sure enough, Zane was there controlling the pillar.

Taro raised an eyebrow. "So he does have some good in him," he grinned.

"Told you so!" Kyle replied. Taro frowned. Kyle was happy as ever. She was right all along! Zane was good! "Thanks, if there's anything I can do to repay you, just let me know!" She said as she slid off of the pillar, grinning. But before she could get off, the pillar started to rise up into the ceiling. "WHAT THE FRICK IS GOING OOOOON" Kyle screamed. Zane was driving the pillar upwards...STRAIGHT INTO THE CEILING.

15 more crystals flew towards each spear, chipping and dulling them. The death factor was.. lessened. Aaron was... confused to say the least. Who summoned the rest of that pillar? His soul magic began to drain- his thoughts were scrambling and melding together, held only by the fact that no one should die here. He moved the top half of the pillar closer to the floor, and it disappeared. Aaron regained part of his mental stability. Aaron glared at Zane. "Thought I was the only one in the room with soul shard magic... hm."

Kyle was dizzy after awhile of pillar disappearing under her magically and then coming back again. "CAN YOU TWO CUT IT OUT?" She yelled from about 45 feet in the air. Then, the pillar smashed into the ceiling. When the pillar dropped down, Kyle appeared to be fine...and really irritated. This continued for a bit until Kyle finally threw up over the side of the pillar. "uuuuugh please... stoooop" she groaned.

Aaron pushed Kyle onto a small crystal platform using a shard and carried it to the bottom using magyyks. The pillar tossed Kyle into the air, and another pillar appeared, whacking Kyle back into the first pillar, and they repeated whacking her back and forth like a baseball. "OH GOSH DARN IT!" Aaron summoned a massive battering ram made out of multiple crystal shards and used it to interrupt Zane's magic by... smashing his face. He appeared to be unaffected.

Kyle roared in fury as she turned into a dragon. She swooped down, picked both Aaron and Zane up and smashed them together. "I SAID STOP YOU PEA BRAINED BIRCH WANDS!" She yelled and started juggling them like baseballs.

Taro looked at the pedestal he levitated earlier. He grinned. Gale walked away, finally having secured the pedestal to the ground. Taro levitated it off of the ground, and tossed it at Zane. "OH COME ON!" Gale yelled.

Aaron LITERALLY couldn't think anymore, launching a volley of shards in random directions using the premade shards from the battering ram. "L E A V E" With no regard for what it cut, it at least had the control to be non-fatal... but still very dangerous.

Kyle put them down and morphed back into a human. "So, may I continue juggling you two or should I leave it to Taro?"

Lei rushed in and pulled Kyle back to keep her from clobbering Aaron. "HEY, HEY, HEY! WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?" She yelled on top of the ruckus.

The shards disappeared. Zane rolled his eyes and levitated Kyle and Aaron, repeatedly smashing them into each other. "STAY OUT OF THIS!" Aaron moved back and summoned a massive crystalline spear. "Don't move," he threatened. Aaron threw it as a javelin. It fired off, aimed directly at Zane in the downtime between slames.

Kyle kicked Aaron in the face and fell from about 50 feet in the air. She hit the ground with a sickening crack. Monokuma pulled Zane aside for a moment. "We're supposed to make her our ally remember? You're currently killing our only chance!" he hissed at Zane.

"Hold on," Zane replied. He stepped to the side, as the spear flew into the wall behind him.

Lei rushed over. "WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ALL OF YOU?" she screamed, triggered by everything.

Taro jumped. He had never seen Lei like this and-"Hey! He's getting away with Kyle!" Taro yelled.

Zane was levitating Kyle's limp body and phased into the floor. Monokuma grinned and also phased into the floor.

"No..." Aaron was evidently irritated. The last resort, was turning to the first strand of his existence. 3 Phasers. The Phasers took form as 3 shadowed crystals, Aaron slowly disintegrating. "The Coalesce created me. It has to be complete." Aaron dissapeared, replaced with a fourth crystal. A massive cloud of dust appeared.

Chapter 3[]

Promptly, the First Voidwalker appeared out of dust. He phased into the floor looking for the traces of the location these people were in using the magic trails.

"Darkshade," Zane grimaced, "he has returned."

"I will deal with it," Monokuma replied happily.

After Monokuma left, Zane summoned a Crystal Monster. He took a shard off of it and placed it on a table. He then took his Swift Scepter and smashed it into dust. "Why should I convince her to join our side if a crystal can do it?" he grinned, sprinkling the dust into a syringe. He then grabbed a water bottle and sprayed the dust from the syringe into the water bottle.

Kyle woke up with a sharp pain. She cried out in agony and realized that she was no longer on the floor of the great hall, but rather in a small dark room that resembled a prison. "uhhh hello? Taro? Lei? Aaron? ANYBODY?" she called out with no response.

Kyle gave herself a little tour of the room. A steel slab and some walls. Fun. She spotted some chains in the corner and she got to work in making herself some chains like her mother's.

Zane walked into the room. "Oh, you're awake," he stated plainly, hiding the syringe behind him.

"Oh, hello," she said, startled by Zane's sudden presence.

Luke locked on to the magic trail and followed it- to a small set of rooms outside of the boundaries of reality.

Zane walked over to Kyle. "What are you making?" he asked.

"Oh, I'm making mech chains. My mother taught me how to use the mech element so I'm making chains to go with the skill, I mean, I could just use these but they need a little flair." Kyle explained while engraving symbols on the chains. "What are you hiding?" Kyle asked skeptically trying to peek behind Zane's back.

Zane pulled out a bottle from behind him. "Water," he replied, quickly shoving the syringe into his pocket. "Want some?" he asked kindly giving the bottle to Kyle.

"Want what?" Kyle asked, still not looking up from the engraving.

"Water," he replied, exasperated.

Luke, meanwhile, moved around to the back of the metal room's imprint in the void.

"Oh water? Sure." She chirped, still not looking up. After she finished, the engravings started to glow. "Yessss I finished!" she said happily as she tried some moves with the chains.

How familiar, Darkshade thought.

Zane looked behind him and didn't see anything. It's probably nothing important. Monokuma should be dealing with them. he thought. What Zane didn't know was that Monokuma had been overpowered and sent back to his dimension by Luke.

Kyle was still spinning the chains around when she heard an "OW!" and looked over to see that she had accidentally hit Zane with a chain.

Darkshade kept waiting.

Kyle looked at Zane. "You 'kay? Did I hit you in the head? You look concussed." She stated very plainly.

"I'm fine," he groaned. Zane rubbed his head. "Are you gonna drink the water?" he groaned.

Kyle chugged the water in about 5 seconds, she hadn't drank in about 2 days and she needed every drop of water she could get. Kyle felt a strange wave of darkness come over her. She could see but at the same time she couldn't. It was painful but at the same time, not. Kyle tried to scream but instead was returned with nothing. She couldn't breathe for a moment. Something came over her. Taro and Lei were suddenly... enemies. She felt a strange need to kill this... Darkshade. Zane was her closest ally. Did she feel this before? Was this how it always was?

Zane grinned. Then, Luke stepped into the metal room and stuck his hand out towards Zane while he was facing away from the door. Tentacles armored in shards lashed out at him. Zane was sent flying into the wall.

"Just one second too late... darn it," he sighed. Darkshade kept attacking, only to be met by... a blocking attack from Kyle?

"Is that all you got, Luke?" Zane taunted.

"...No... you've seen nothing." A barrage of walls of shards came at him accompanied by more tentacles. The Eclipse Sky Scythe in his hand began to slowly extend, coated in a color of black and purple...

Zane levitated the shards and aimed them at Luke. "Bye-bye," he stated as he fired the shards at Luke. He couldn't miss. However, a door flew in and blocked the attack. There stood Lei, Taro, and the Mechagram Quad. While Zane was occupied, Luke slashed twice at the door- one two cut through it, to to cut at Zane. "What the-" Zane coughed as the dust cleared. Zane ducked before Luke could cut him to shreds.

"Hope we didn't crash the party!" Taro grinned.

Luke took note of the strangers...no, the people he met. Four tentacles rushed at Zane, trying to grab his limbs.

Kyle swung her chain at Luke, blowing him across the room. As Taro and Lei rushed in, Kyle somehow found herself strangling Taro.

"Ack!" Taro gasped.

"No, you just made it more fun," Kyle said and slowly started to dig her talons into Taro's neck.

"What...are...you...doing?" Taro gasped.

Luke slammed his scythe into the floor to stop his momentum, and swung around on it to kick Kyle in the face. Taro collapsed to the floor, gasping for air.

Kyle roared and grabbed Taro by the arms and held up a dagger to his throat. "Move and he dies. Simple trade." She chuckled as Taro whimpered.

Luke rushed forward and dragged Taro into the void- essence seeped inside his wounds. He lived, now as a Voidwalker. Also, he could breathe so that's fun. A shard, with the surrounding dust looking like Aaron took hold of the scythe and began to strike Kyle with its blade.

"Wh-wh-where am I?" Taro whimpered, "Is this the afterlife?" Suddenly, Taro appeared in the midst of the battle. "I guess not?" he asked himself.

Kyle smirked. "You seriously think that that's going to work?" She growled. Suddenly Kyle's eyes started to go white and it was no longer Kyle that they were facing. Rather, it was an abomination. The thing clawed it's way though the ruckus and made it's way to Taro, and bit by bit started to claw his neck open.

Lei screamed as she watched The Kyle Monster tear Taro's neck open. "SOMEONE HELP!" she screamed.

Taro screamed.

Essence instantly filled the wound. Luke then began to hack and slash away the flesh from bone, using tentacles to restrain the abomination.

Zane glared at the Mechagram Quad. "What are YOU doing here? I thought you left!"

Milly frowned. "Is there a problem with being here?" she snapped.

Zane whipped out his Titan Power Katana. "Not really," he replied, "It just means I have to kill more people."

(between Xl4rx's and Lyndia's argument)

Kyle slapped Xl4rx. "MILLY WAS A FRIEND! AND YOU DON'T GIVE A DAMN!?" Kyle yelled as she cornered Xl4rx. "Go get a life, monster."
