Chapter 1: The Rise of MAGMAYHEM[]
1.Magmayhem
Ok so as everyone knows, the Epic pets are special pets who guard the Prodigy world and live in harmony with monsters and wizards alike. But one day, Magmischief was thinking,”Why do I, the strongest Epic, have to do this boring job of guarding the Bonfire Spire?'' I mean seriously, can’t Chill & Char do it. There are more than enough guards at Shipwreck Shore anyway. But he grudgingly went on doing it until one day he saw a glow coming from a cave in the giant magic volcano. Carefully looking around to see if no one was watching him deserting his post, he slowly advanced towards the warm, fiery glow. He soon found out its source: a female wizard and her pet near a fire. “Hello, Magmischief, I am Ulla”, the woman said. “What brings you here, off your post?” “Well, I saw a glow coming from this cave… do you mind telling me what it is?” Magmayhem answered. “Ah it is a powerful stone that gives endless amounts of strength to any pet who wields it.” “ Magmischief, where are AHHHH!!!”. Magmishief had snuck up behind Ulla, who had dropped the stone in shock. “ I’ll take THAT, thank- wait, what is happening!” Magmischief grew until he was 3 times his size and had 10 times the amount of power. “This feels much better actually. “ Now that those Epics can’t order me around, i suppose it is time for a Prodigy world dictatorship. He turned to face Ulla. “In other words- oh, she left, the coward. Anyway, time to take over the world”. “ Oh yeah, a new name. How about Magcrusher? No, Magmelter then? No wait I’ve got it!” He smiled. “ Watch out world, because MAGMAYHEM is here!
2.Arcturion
The reign of Magmayhem had just begun, and the other Epics were very angry and very humiliated. That was because they had just had a battle with Magmayhem, and he’d beat them in a 1-8 battle. “He’s like 10 times stronger than us,”Luma moaned. “Oh, shut up, will you? If I was just a little stronger, I could have easily defeated him myself!” Eclipse snapped. This was mostly because Eclipse hated Luma and Luma hated Eclipse. They had a rivalry and they were constantly fighting and trying to be better than each other. However, Arctursus was not listening to their arguments. In fact, he was thinking how Magmayhem got that upgrade. So while no one was looking, using his magic map(yeah, epics used to have those too) and teleported to Bonfire Spire, where he found Ulla. Unfortunately, even after his infuriated roars, Ulla couldn’t do anything due to the fact that greedy Magmayhem had taken all of its energy. Enraged and disappointed, he sulked around the volcano for a while, and then came to a thought: Maybe his friend Big Hex could help. So he teleported to Big Hex’s workshop, which was unique to Arctursus’s map. “So, my friend, why are you here?” Big Hex greeted him. “ You know how Magmayhem sort of leveled up, right? Well, I was thinking you could make a powerful robot suit for me,”Arctursus explained. “WHAT!” Big Hex exclaimed. “I can’t do that! It’s against the laws of magic!”Arctursus pleaded until he had an idea. “ I'll give you 1K Aeros” “Fine,” Big Hex said, defeated. “Come back tomorrow.”Tomorrow, he saw a robot suit and some sort of pod inside Big Hex’s workshop. He went towards the suit, but was restrained by Big Hex. “What? I paid,” Arctursus said, irritated. “No, you go in there,” he said, pointing at the pod. Arctursus asked no questions and did as he was told. However, this was a bad idea, for the moment he went on, he felt intense pain. It was like he was destroyed from inside. Then he blacked out. When he woke up, he was outside. Big Hex looked exhausted. Also, his workshop looked smaller. No, HE was bigger. “Thanks, my BFF! I guess it’s time to defeat Magmayhem once and for all!”
3.Shiver & Scorch
Chill & Char were, along with all the other Epics, eagerly waiting for Arcturion coming back, a defeated Magmayhem over his enormous shoulder. However, he did not come back. “Want me to go and check on him?”Eclipse asked. “Sure,” said Chill, as Char was chewing on pizza. A few minutes later, Eclipse came back. The grave look in his face told everything, if not the look on his scales that looked that they had been healed been with No-Burn spell. He was clutching a note which was most likely sent by Magmayhem. It read:
I have your “champion”. It was a piece of cake defeating him, as I am fire and he is ice. However, since we used to be friends and it’s hard to find a prison for that blundering giant, I’ll give you chance: if one of you can even tie me in a fair, 1v1 battle, I’ll release him.
“We’ll go!” said both Chill and Char together. Since no one else wanted to volunteer, Chill & Char went by themselves all to harmony island. Why were they going to Harmony Island? Well, it’s kind of simple if you think about it. Since Chill and Char the maximum level of BFFs, they want to increase their harmony and perhaps become stronger. As they arrived at Harmony Island, they saw the strangest sight: there was a wizard there. It seemed to be studying a stone when suddenly it looked at Chill & Char and said “Um, growl?” Scorch asked. “And they speak our language!” Finally it spoke in the normal language. “So, um, why are you here?” “ We’re here so we can strengthen our bond of friendship” The talkative wizard gave Chill & Char a superior look they didn’t like. “Well, we just found a stone that strengthens bonds of friendship, family, and harmony,”he said. Chill & Char asked for it, and to their surprise, it agreed. He touched the stone and was prepared to transform.
4. Aquadile
Eclipse came back, this time with both Shiver, Scorch, and Arcturion. “Yes!” Big Hex shouted. “Finally!” All of the Epics were glad to see them back, even after hearing that Magmayhem had not been defeated, only had been tied against. Diveodile, however, was not too happy about this. He had also wanted to go on the quest to beat Magamayhem. But he was guarding Shipwreck from a sea monster. So when all the other Epics had told him abou Magmayhem’s note and how Chill & Char ( he wasn’t Shiver & Scorch when they had told him that) had took up the challenge. He was sure he could easily defeat in a 1v1 if he, too, had a Mythical form. However, he didn’t, and so he had to hid his pure disappointment as they told him the news. But now, seeing how grand Shiver & Scorch had become, he knew he couldn’t hide his bitterness for long. He decided to go to Bonfire Spire to find this Ulla. On the way he had to fight a Flame Neek, a Liosen, and a humongous Embershed. This better be worth it he thought, but then finally found Ulla over a fire and asked if she had enough energy in the stone to get him a Mythical form. She said yes, but only barely. Also, he would have to pass a trial of strength to get his Mythical form. The trial- defeat a wild Prodraxis. Piece of cake thought Diveodile and then beat one in 10 seconds flat. “Now can I please touch the stone?” Diveodile asked. Ulla said yes, but suddenly, as he looked at Ulla’s eyes, he felt like something wasn’t right. “What are you looking at me for?” Ulla asked irritatedly. Olevear! Shouted Diveodile and then Ulla’s form changed to their old enemy, Allur’s. “Well, you found me out. But who cares. It’s too late,” said Allur. “But Magmayhem,” was all that Diveodile could choke out. “Oh, him. Well, that was my daughter, Ulla. A complete failure. Now please, get out,” Allur said, and, using magic, tossed him to the waters of Shipwreck Shore. There, unknown to Diveodile, was the exact place the wizard who had given Shiver & Scorch their Mythical forms. And his pendant was absorbing the magic in those very waters. So when Diveodile woke up, he would realize that those waters had a very special Mythical surprise waiting for him.
5.Nebula
Eclipse was very glum right now. Reason one: He’d lost for the first time ever in the Grand Talent Contest For Epics, and to Luma, no less (The Grand Talent Contest was a contest to test an Epic’s skill in magic, speed, and other stuff). Reason two: Everyone was getting their Mythical forms and he didn’t want to lose his regular post as messenger/spy[ Big Hex was so good at guarding Skywatch that Skywatch didn’t even need him guarding it(Big Hex used cameras and traps)]. And reason 3:His friend Diveodile(no one knew he had a Mythical form yet) was missing, and his other friends, Shiver & Scorch, were too busy doing some “important” work. So yes, Eclipse was very glum. However, his gloominess was slowly replaced by anxiety for Diveodile. Oh yeah, and a little part that still wanted to show Luma who was boss.If I get a Mythical form, I’ll be much better.
He didn’t really care about the war, as he and Magamyhem were still friends and he wasn’t going to let him down. Suddenly, he had an idea. I can ask Magmayhem to get me one! Surely it would work, right? Magmayhem had told him about this stone on his frequent visits to Bonfire Spire. You see, when Eclipse went to check on Arcturion and Shiver & Scorch, he’d taken a slight detour to Magmayhem’s place to talk to his oldest friend. Magamyhem had asked to take his side and conquer the world with him, but Eclipse had turned him down. However, he told Magmayhem that he could spy on the other Epics and tell Magmayhem what they were up to. Magmayhem had agreed, saying it was better than taking his side openly. So he went to ask Big Hex if he could go to find Aquadile, but unfortunately, Luma had realized what he was going to ask and beat him to it. Eclipse, shocked and outraged, had told Big Hex that as he was the messenger,it should be him who should go. Luckily, Big Hex had favored Eclipse as he had actually been useful to the Epics these past days, and Luma walked away, not very happy with her failed attempt to spite Eclipse. So making a direct route to Bonfire Spire, he went to Magmayhem’s cave and asked him about getting a Mythical Form. Magmayhem had agreed Eclipse should get a Mythical form, but he didn’t have the stone. The stone was still with Ulla, who was trapped in the lowest levels of the Bonfire Spire. However, he knew how to get Eclipse a Mythical form. All he had to do was touch the Storm Keystone. Eclipse flew out, wondering how to even get to the Storm Keystone. Then, he saw one of the strangest sights an Epic could see: Eugene handing over the Storm Keystone a wizard, who didn’t see Eclipse flying over them. Once it got far away enough from Skywatch, he swooped down and asked them if he could touch the Keystone. It said, "of course", since he would only touch it. As he touched the stone, he could feel the power that was going through him. “Can I call you Nebula?” the wizard asked. Nebula… now that’s a good name… wow, wizards aren’t as stupid as those books portray them. Nebula agreed to be named Nebula, but no, this story isn’t over yet. There are a few very interesting things Nebula did after that, and I’m sure you want to know.
So after Nebula got his Mythical form, he went back to Magmayhem and thanked for the information. But his work there wasn’t finished. He then went to the lowest part of the Bonfire Spire and rescued her. She was unconscious, so after doing the reveal spell to see that she was really Ulla, carried her in his claws and started his search for Diveodile. They’ll call me a hero. Now it doesn’t matter who wins the Grand Talent Contest. I have pulled off a job that no one else could do, and not even Luma can argue with this. As I said before,I don’t care who wins this war, but now everyone trusts me now. Now, I can easily operate as the double agent I am. They’ll only see me as what I want them to see: A hero
6.Blast Star
Many people say that the most in-control people are The Ancient or Mira Shade. Or, perhaps, Gale. But none of them know that in fact, the one who has links, cameras, and bombs is none other than Big Hex. Big Hex, along with building the Dark Tower, Harmony Island, Lamplight Town,The Academy, and many buildings in the elemental areas, had put a little chip such as a bomb, a camera, or a voice recorder. So yes, if Big Hex wanted to, he could blow up Mira Shade, Harmony, and the Wardens all at once and in one second. However, Big Hex was currently very dissatisfied and had forgotten how much power he had. EVeryone was cheering Nebula for this apparent “Mission of the Century”. Like I couldn't do better. Like it matters anyway. He, to be honest, did not trust Nebula. It was practically impossible to get a Mythical form, see two wizards out in the open, AND rescue both Ulla and Aquadile. So he called everyone to the main clearing. “I don’t trust Nebula. What he did was practically impossible. So, I want Luma to watch him 24/7. Yes, Nebula, I said Luma. Either you agree or you’re a traitor. Nebula’s mouth dropped open in both shock and fury and Big Hex thought that Nebula would jump right at him and rip him to shreds. But Nebula refrained at the last second and subsided. Luma looked like she might collapse and die, but followed Nebula, grumbling about how unfair life was. Let them grumble. I don't trust him. he's smart, sure, but not smarter than me. However, he knew he wouldn’t have this kind of authority for long. He needed a Mythical form. However, maybe Nebula was a little smarter than Big Hex. he’d drugged Luma and then gone off to give some of the recent information to Magmayhem. He’d come back quickly and drugged himself to remove all suspicions from him. Anyway, back to Big Hex. Big Hex was currently engaged in making his giant, Mythical size, and 10 times more powerful robot suit. Once he was done, he prepared the machine to transfer his consciousness from his old body to his new one. Suddenly, the lights went out. power outage. He heavily disliked power outages, since he couldn’t do his tech work with them. He could still operate, of course, as he was made with magic metal, but his shop, excluding the robot suit, could not function anymore. Nebula is behind this. I'll find him and put that traitor in prison However, Nebula was not anywhere in the camp. When he asked where Nebula was, Shiver & Scorch told him that Nebula and Luma had gone to find Luma’s Mythical form. Big Hex asked how in the whole wide world could Luma have convinced Nebula to go on this quest, and Shiver & Scorch told him that Nebula was forced to due to Big Hex’s order. “I said LUMA was to follow NEBULA not the other way around! Big Hex knew his authority was fading, and if Epics just went off to try and be Mythical, there would be no point of a team or a leader. I’ve got to keep them in check, or we have no chance against Magmayhem.
Big Hex braced himself for his consciousness to be transferred into his new robot suit. This’ll be alright. This new suit has the latest weapons and gear. Oh, and a name. Well, since I have so many blasters…wait, Blast-er, Blast Star! Yeah, that’ll be my new name. Perfect. Now we finally have a chance to beat Magmayhem, for at last, Blast Star is coming!
7.Lumanight
Luma was currently flying towards the secret Sun Temple, which, by the way, along with the Moon Temple, is a hidden location and cannot be found on the wizards’ map. In fact, only Nebula and Luma knew of the temples’ existence. On the bad side, her partner in crime was Nebula, who had to go due to Big Hex’s orders(well, technically he had just said for Luma to Nebula). She wished that instead of her arch-nemesis, it was Tidus who would come along, but, of course, fate had made it so she would have to go with Nebula. “So, Nebula, are you tired yet?” Luma asked, knowing very well he wasn’t. “No, of course not, but I'm sure you are with your tiny little wings and big mouth,” Nebula answered. Luma, who anticipated this, immediately had a comeback. “Well, since all of your dimensions are bigger than mine, I think your mouth is too.”
Nebula, apparently, had no answer, and kept on flying with a grim expression. If Luma didn’t hate Nebula, she honestly would have felt sorry for him. However, there were much more important things right now, such as getting a Mythical Form. They decided to rest at the Epic's Subspace. Suddenly, A Falling Star Smash spell smashed Luma’s right wing and she crashed very unceremoniously into the middle of the Epic's Subspace. A very familiar villain was standing in front of her. Using magic to heal her wing, Luma snarled “Allur! What are you doing here!” Allur laughed. “I just wanted to see you and Nebula battle.” Luma shook her head, knowing she would lose. “I have a better idea,” Nebula said, swooping down. “Whoever takes this piece of trash and puts it in the dumpster gets 500 points( Nebula and Luma had a points system to see who was better than each other. Nebula was currently winning by exactly 500 points). “Good idea,” Luma said, and prepared to blast Allur straight out of Prodigia(bad name, I know, feel free to give me another one in the comments). Before Allur could counterblast, Nebula smashed a claw in Allur’s head. Allur got up, not unconscious, which was sad(for Allur anyway). Luma’s blast blasted Allur to who knows where. After that, something that hadn’t happened in a long time happened: Nebula and Luma gave each other a high five. “Alright,” said Luma. “Now to the Sun Temple!” After a quick rest, Nebula and Luma went on to Bonfire Spire. Luma was planning on sending Nebula to Skywatch to buy a map. After that, she would tell Magmayhem about how Big Hex was very close to who the spy was.She was also Magmayhem’s friend, though she didn’t know that Nebula was also in the friend line(because it’s not a circle). Honestly, she hadn’t done much spying, but mostly just talking and having some fun in their homeland. Nebula, much to Luma’s unknowing, had just pretended to go away and had followed Luma to where Magmayhem was. So it was a surprise to Luma when Nebula appeared at the door. “It’s not what it looks like!” Luma said, throwing her talons up in the air. Nebula looked absolutely shocked, but it didn’t seem the kind of shock where you see someone doing something illegal. It was more of the betrayed kind of shock. Also, Nebula was looking at Magmayhem, not Luma. “Magmayhem!” Nebula shouted. “Why is Luma here!” Magmayhem decided to tell Nebula and Luma the truth. He told them how he’d secretly been friends with both of them, and also not to be mad at him. They told him they forgave him, but also left Magmayhem’s cave after 5 minutes. “So, to the Sun Temple,” Luma told Nebula. However, something weird happened after that. “We’ve found you, Luma and Nebula,” Blast Star declared. He revealed himself from the rock RIGHT BEHIND THEM. Blast Star listed every rule they’d broken, and had also seen them come out unharmed from Magmayhem’s cave. Nebula and Luma looked at each other, realizing what was happening. “RUN, I mean FLY!” said Nebula and flew off towards the Sun Temple. “Don’t you want to come for your hearing!” Blast Star called, but Nebula and Luma paid no heed and didn’t stop flying until they had finally reached the Sun Temple. As she landed landed, she knew that she should have come here a long time ago. This was meant to be the place where she would get her Mythical form. As she transformed, she knew that although both she and Nebula were both outcasts now, it wouldn’t be for long. After all, Magmayhem isn’t actually the biggest threat to the Epics, even though he’s already conquered 80% of the world. It’s Allur, who apparently never died at all. I’m sure she already has a plan for a complete extermination of Epics. But if that happens, I’ll fight at the Epic’s side, outcast or not. And I’m sure that everything will get back to normal once Magmayhem is in Epic prison and Allur is defeated, once and for all.
Chapter 2: The Beginning of The End[]
8.Riptide
This was it. At last. Everyone had gotten their Mythical Forms(except Florafox, but she didn’t really care). The Epics were finally going to make their final stand against Magmayhem. Wait! I forgot about Tidus! Sorry, Tidus. I completely forgot about you. Ok, fine, you can continue the story from here.
Tidus did not approve of making their final stand, at least not right now! He had a Mythical Form to get. Also, Nebula and Lumanight were away, and since Lumanight was one of his friends, he didn’t really think that it was fair to do this without them. But blah blah blah, apparently they were working with Magmayhem. “Tidus!” Blast Star called. “It is time!” Tidus got up and got in position. All of the Epics flew(or swam) to Bonfire Spire. But on the way, a really big storm happened. Tidus was blown away by the force of a waterspout(a tornado on water).
He woke up on an island-no,wait, not ANY island. This was Harmony Island, the place you could only end up in accidentally(and with really good luck). But where was Harmony? Tidus decided to look for her. He looked everywhere until he found this strange crystal. He had no idea what it was, so he touched it. Suddenly, he was teleported to some other place in the giant Harmony Island. There was a rock with inscriptions on it, and it read: “I am trapped by an unknown force. Please complete this Rune Run to free me. Long story short, he completed the Rune Run and freed Harmony. “For this task, I will give you anything you want, Tidus,” Harmony told him. “Can I have a Mythical form?” Tidus asked. “Well, you asked the one thing I cannot do. However, Magmayhem has obtained the Water Keystone, so join your friends in battle to touch it. As Tidus left, he didn’t notice Harmony shifting back into Allur. “That idiot didn’t realize Magmayhem has no Water Keystone and he will be killed by Magmayhem. That’s just one less Epic I will have to eliminate, after all.” Tidus flew all to the Shiverchill Mountains, where he met Nebula and Lumanight. He told him that Magmayhem had the Water Keystone, and he was going to go get his Mythical form. “Magmayhem doesn’t have the Water Keystone! He has all of the others, but not the Water one. “Wait-what? But-Harmony told me!” Tidus was clearly at a loss for words. “How did you meet Harmony again?” Nebula asked. Tidus explained. “Harmony was very vague about how she was trapped. Also, who could have trapped such a powerful entity? My guess is that it was a fake.” Luma said. Tidus realized he had been tricked. “Let’s go fight Magmayhem anyway,” Tidus sighed. Nebula and Luma explained that they’d come, but would stay out of sight. At the battlefield, Magmayhem and his army of Fire types were clearly winning. But Tidus saw something beyond the Army and the huge form of Magmayhem. It was five pedastals with all 5 of the Warden Keystones(wow, Gale, Magmayhem BUILT pedastals while he was conquering Prodigia, and you STILL haven’t fixed the ones at the Academy. But 5 Embersheds saw him and charged towards him. He knocked out 4 out four of them, but the last one raised its head for a killing blow. Well, great, I’m dead. But a torrent knocked out the attacking Embershed. Nebula winked at him and motioned for him to advance. But as he went, he saw the Epics were losing to Magmayhem. Magmayhem was preparing for a final blow to end the Epics once and for all. The Epics were too exhausted to fight back. Tidus stopped in a moment of indecision. Try and probably fail to save his friends, or get a Mythical form but be too late. What should I do? He took a look at the Keystone, knowing he had to do it no matter the cost. He shifted his gaze to Magmayhem and charged, his water magic acting as a shield as he took the blow, full-force. The blast rocketed him to the middle of the pedestal circle over the guarding Smoldashes. He heard the triumphant cries as the Epics’ attacks defeated and blasted Magmayhem off to who knows where. He reached out an arm but knew the Keystone was too far, and the last thing he heard before he blacked out was the soft wingbeats of Nebula and Luma slowly settling beside him.
9. Bluefury Magmayhem
Note: This story begins near the end of Riptide and ends at the start of Vegabloom.
Magmayhem had won. The Epics, the weaker ones, were basically dead. Just one more blow. He prepared it, gathering all the Fire magic he had. This was too easy. The blow had used up all of his energy, but it was worth it. It smashed into the Ep-wait, WHAT! The idiot Tidus had blocked it. He would be dead for sure, but now the Epics could do all of their attacks at once. He felt his victory slipping from his grasp, even more when he was blasted from Bonfire Spire to Shipwreck Shore. It was over. He KNEW the water would destroy him. He fell deeper and deeper until he fell into a hole. Then the hole erupted.
Magmayhem hadn’t expected to wake up. Is this heaven? But even though he realized it wasn’t heaven, he still felt… different. Hell, then? As he looked out from the abandoned island, he saw the distant silhouette of Bonfire Spire. He turned around and saw something shiny. GOLD. His greatest desire. Magmayhem shook his head. Since when had he actually appreciated gold? In the Epic’s home, gold was one of the most common resources. But still…. GOLD. So shiny. So… precious. Magmayhem literally had to wait for something else interesting-some weird colored Tribeak- to snap out of his trance. Actually, EVERYTHING on this island was strange-colored. The Luminexes were gold-GOLD. Without thinking, he lunged at the Luminexes and-wait, why were his attacks less powerful? The Luminex’ used their storm attacks which Magmayhem knew would instakill him. But he withstood the attacks and with a second Hot Snow attack, he beat them. So somehow, his attack had gone DOWN but his health had gone UP. Well, that was a good thing. Also, his sudden obsession with gold seemed to be going away, bit by bit. He still liked gold more than he used to, but not in that craze. Also, now he knew how to manipulate gold and how to destroy it. Well, that’ll help in Epic Prison, if he ever went there. Speaking of Epics…There! He’d found their home. Using a combination of fire and gold, he created a bridge to take him there. It’s time for revenge. His gaze fell on Florafox, who still didn’t have a Mythical form yet. And I know just where to start.
10. Vegabloom
The underrated Epic. Although the other 8 epics were all grand and stuff, Florafox didn’t really ever get any attention. Also, unlike the other epics, Florafox didn’t really care. She had friends, she had a family, and she had powers. She liked talking to her cousin Gryphroom, who also didn’t like or have any attention. Also it felt good not to be the smallest Epic there. Of course, she did sort of want some recognition for healing them in that Magmayhem fight, but it didn’t really matter. Nebula and Luma had been welcomed back for their brutal extermination of Magmayhem’s army, and Tidus for being a hero. She too, had to thank Tidus, because without his help, she would not have gotten the energy to heal all of the other Epics. He, too, had gotten his Mythical form, though with a few cuts and scratches. Thai was due to Nebula and Luma practically dragging him to the Water Keystone. They’d had a good laugh about that one, for sure. But, as Tidus was being honored for his bravery, Florafox felt something WATCHING her. She looked around but found no one. Then she felt hands on her back and was pulled away into the darkness.
When she opened her eyes, she realized she was in a gold cave. She touched a wall and jumped back immediately. The gold was hot! There was no way out either way. The gold and the fire provided heat and light, but there was no food! Florafox panicked, trying to find A way out, ANY way out. But there was none. She stayed there a few days, growing hungrier and hungrier until she thought she would die of starvation or something. But then, she heard a noise outside. And a smell. BERRIES. They were so tantalizing! She wanted them but she had no way AT ALL of getting them. The room shaked. The fire went out. OH NO.THIS IS BAD. Suddenly, a root smashed into all of the walls. The cave crumbled, and Florafox barely got out. “So, want some Epicberries?” the voice of her cousin Gryphroom called. “ Gryphroom!” Florafox cried, overjoyed to see him. “ And yes, GIVE ME THE BERRIES'' Gryphroom gave them to her, and after eating her fill she asked, “So, how’s it going at Epicopolis? “Uhhhhh, are you sure you don’t want to keep eating?” Gryphroom asked slowly. “TELL ME NOW!” Florafox demanded. “Well, before I came here, Allur attacked us and stuff, and our city blew up and stuff, and we all had to run a and- STOP SAYING “STUFF “AND TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED QUICKLY!” Gryphroom nodded and resumed. “So Ulla came, and she shifted into Allur, but then the REAL Ulla came, and she noticed what was happening and sniped from a distance. Allur dropped a giant glowing coin on our city and everything exploded, and two wizards came in the chaos, and Nebula and Luma wasted no time in running straight towards them and asking to teleport to somewhere. They used a pen to mark two places on the wizards’ maps, and the wizards, Nebula, and Luma plain vanished. I saw Blast Star trying to restore order, but it was hard to listen, and in the end even HE flew away. And after that everyone just scattered and it was pure chaos and Ulla, the real one, came with me. “Ulla?” Florafox asked. “Where is she?” “Near the bushes,” Gryphroom answered. Florafox and Gryphroom found Ulla waiting for them with her mysterious pet. Ulla revealed why she’s come along and told them both that her Mythical crystal had charged up twice. That meant they could both go stop Allur, who was at Bonfire Spire. As they both touched it, Floafox felt herself growing. By a LOT. She grew until she was a little taller than Gryphroom’s Mythical form, which was no shabby size either. “Wow,” Ulla said in shock. “ I never expected this to happen, but Florafox, as you are the only Epic with a pure heart, your size magically increased. If you took Magmayhem’s dose, you would be TWICE as large as Magmayhem. I’ll call you Vegabloom, as you BLOOMED to your full power. “I like that,” Vegabloom said. “ It fits me. “ Can I keep Gryphroom?” Gryphroom asked. “ I like the name, and it fits me. Also, I’m only an honorary Epic. Ulla agreed and said Gryphroom DID fit him. “Ok, enough talking!” Florafox said. They had to stop Allur a second time, and she wouldn’t hide in a corner and snipe from a distance again. She was the biggest here, the strongest here, and the most powerful here. She could heal and restore energy to herself tenfold if she wanted to and not get tired. After all this time, it was HER time to lead, and she wasn’t going to mess it up. She would lead them to stop Allur, once and for all. “We have to stop Allur, so let’s go on a- QUEST, YAY!” Gryphroom finished. He looked very excited, even in his new form. And now, it was time to go!
Gryphroom:The Final Dare
Gryphroom was going on a quest. An ACTUAL QUEST, after all this time. The last time he even did something is when he freed the epics from their statue forms after that puppet master battle. Unlike Vegabloom, Gryphroom always enjoyed adventure, especially the dangerous ones. The more dangerous, the better, that was his motto. He was a complete daredevil, so even when there wasn’t anything to do, he would make up near-impossible goals for himself, such as battling an Embershed, finding a wizard, or taunting Eve and getting away with it. What made him do even more dares like this is that he actually succeeded, no matter how hard it was. His favorite customers were Nebula and Magmayhem, because they paid him gold to do them. The gold paid for even more dares, and Nebula and Magmayhem even helped sometimes on his made-up dares, like when Nebula flew him to Skywatch to trap Rain Cloud, or when Magmayhem had shown him where to get the correct food and armor to get to Bonfire Spire. The only dare he had failed in was getting the Book of Spells from the Sacred Library. The sentry there had heat vision. Luckily, Nebula had rescued him before he turned into ashes. But now, he and his cousin Vegabloom are finally going on an adventure. This was the greatest moment of his entire life. And they were going to save the world. It couldn’t get any better than this. “We’re here, “ Vegabloom told Gryphroom. “It is time to infiltrate the opposition and gain treasure and glory!” Gryphroom declared. “Ok, ok, now shush,” Vegabloom said. They were at Allur’s new tower(how did she build it in a week anyway?). A roar suddenly interrupted them. It was a pride of Liosens, and they were not looking happy. Just as they were about to flee into the tower, Allur herself came down. “Well, well, well,” she said. “What do we have here?” The Liosens charged and Allur used a spell to bind and capture Vegabloom. Vegabloom broke free, healing and restoring herself. She used Overgrowth, which was negated by Wildfire. But then the Liosens stopped chasing Gryphroom and swarmed Vegabloom, and their might was too much for Vegabloom to handle. As she got captured, lightning bolts struck all around the tower, and there were wildfires everywhere. It was pure destruction. Allur took the limp body of Vegabloom and fled into the tower as the extreme weather continued. However, the moment she went inside the storm stopped, and Nebula and Magmayhem came into view, looking pleased with themselves. Gryphroom realized they had come to find him. “Gryphroom?” Nebula called. “Gryphroom, are you there?” Gryphroom got out of the bushes and revealed himself. “Why are you guys here? I just failed a quest, and now there are two blots on my record instead of one,” Gryphroom said miserably. Magmayhem grinned and replied, “We’re here to fix up one of them. I just learned the Book of Spells contains an incredibly powerful spell which is different for each person who reads it. They are far stronger than our Mythical attacks, and they can annihilate every element including Astral and Shadow. But unlike last time, you’re not doing an alone in-and-out job. We’re both helping, especially against the sentries and everyone else. Once it’s done, we can destroy Allur and get you a clean record. Gryphroom considered the offer. He wasn’t ready to fully trust Magmayhem again yet, although he had shrinked, but he did want to do the dare. It would boost his confidence and completely clean up his record, and he would become the ultimate daredevil, treading to where no Epic had been before. If he managed to pull this off, no one, not even Vegabloom, could stop him as he went to the greatest heights and deepest depths. “I’m in,” Gryphroom told them.
Gryphroom had a feeling that taking out the blot from his record would be harder than he thought. For one, the journey was long and treacherous, and there were so many wildfires Gryphroom had to hide once every 5 minutes. Finally, Nebula managed to part the clouds and Magmayem contained the wildfires. It was a good thing they did, because Gryphroom did not want to die before the dare even started. But just as they were about to reach the Sacred Library, a major mudslide happened, and Gryphroom, Nebula, and Magmayhem had to waste 30 minutes to get through it. Finally, they arrived at the Sacred Library. “Finally! We’re here!” Gryphroom exclaimed, motioning at the library. “But now we’ll have to beat the security,” Magmayhem said grimly. They entered the library and immediately the lamps went out. “Alarm activated,” Gryphroom muttered while looking for a light source. “Got one,” Magmayhem replied, and used his fire magic to light a fire in his palm/hand/whatever it is. The fire revealed a hulking Titan. “Run,” Gryphroom said, and ran towards another room. Nebula fired a blast and followed. As Magmayhem entered and lit up the room, two blood-red(the key word being “blood”) words spelled “Execution Room.” “Oh, great,” Nebula grumbled. Two giant robots with giant axes headed their way. Magmayhem threw a fireball at them. It didn’t work. Nebula blasted them with a lightning bolt. That didn’t work either. Gryphroom was deciding on what spell to use when a robot backed Nebula into the corner. Gryphroom immediately shot something, a sneaking vine(hmmm… doesn’t that sound familiar?).The vine strangled and crushed the first robot. He then used the same spell on a second robot, which also got crushed and died. “I think I’ve found your book,” Magmayhem said to Gryphroom. Gryphroom looked at it and realized that it was, indeed, the great and famous(or should I say, infamous) Book of Spells. “Ok, book unboxing beginning,” Nebula intoned as Gryphroom opened the book and found…a bunch of burnt pages. There seemed to be ONE INTACT PAGE at the MIDDLE of the book, but that was basically it. “Seriously!?” Gryphroom moaned. “Where is the great all-powerful spell that’s SUPPOSED to be in this book? All it has is some power- combining stuff no one cares about.” Magmayhem stared at the spell, and then said, “Wait…but we COULD create a new Epic which would help a lot. Nebula nodded, and added, “It should look like me.”
“It SHOULD look like him,” Gryphroom agreed. “But it should be a fire-type, because or else the spell won’t work and plant is..um…not that strong.” So Nebula read the spell and used his shadow magic to make an EXACT CLONE. Then Magmayhem blasted it with fire. But Gryphroom had an idea. “The spell says that it’s strongest with three contributors. So how about I add a PHYSICAL spell, which’ll help against Allur anyway because Physical beats Astral.” Magmayhem drew back a bit of his fire, and Gryphroom added enough physical energy so it had one attack of that element. Then, they all blasted it one last time and the elemental Epic came alive.
SOLAR: The Last Stand
Solar looked at his creators and at himself. His consciousness had been trapped in the book for a long time and he was finally happy to get out, even though he’d hoped that he would become a Shadow type(shadow spells look cool). Obviously, he had above-average intelligence, but he decided to pretend otherwise, just for entertainment. “Goo goo ga ga?” he asked in a babyish voice. “Any tips on training a baby dragon,” asked the fire thing to the purple dragon(whose name was nebula-mental note). Nebula looked at Solar with a gleam in his eye, and said, “We throw them off the cliffs to get them to learn how to fly. We catch them before they land, but since Solar is practically my size, I might not be able to.” The fire thing nodded, understanding of the hidden message, and added, “I can add a fire trapeze to catch him, I’m sure it won’t hurt.” The plant creature looked confused, but realization dawned on his eyes(sorry, it’s fun to use dramatic words) and he asked, “Can I add a couple of vines underneath? They might be thorny, but it’ll do the job.” Seeing the charade was over, Solar decided to just ask their names in the normal language. Also, his main question was, “Do you ACTUALLY throw baby dragons off cliffs.” Nebula answered, “well, yeah, but only after a few months once they sprout wings. Don’t worry, most of the dragons survive.” Solar decided not to ask what happened to the rest of them. “Also, why did you call me from the depths of your imagination? Is this just a dramatization, or am I in a hallucination? Are the names of any of your comrades an abbreviation? There should have been some more elaboration, or at least amplification of facts. It was very poor communication. Why am I here, anyway? For someone else’s humiliation? For an investigation? Hopefully it’s an assassination. Perhaps a defenestration. Oh, and by the way, for using all these big words, I think I should get a standing ovation.” Gryphroom looked dazed, and said, “I lost you on, “imagination.”
“And I came back on ‘assassination’,” Magmayhem added cheerfully.
“So, WILL there be an assassination?” Solar asked, hopeful.
“As a matter of fact, there will,” Nebula replied. “We’re trying to yeet an evil witch name Allur.”
“As in defenestration?” Solar asked, even MORE hopeful.
“No, as in…un-aliving?” Nebula said.
“Oh,” said Solar, slightly disappointed. “Wait, but can we throw her out of a window before the…un-aliving?”
“That WOULD be satisfying,” Gryphroom agreed. “Maybe if there’s a window or something.”
So Nebula and Solar carried while Magmayhem used the vents(well, he went underground and then speed-tunneled to bonfire spire. Still kinda sus, though…). Eventually, they got to Bonfire Spire, only to find a dead Lumanight. “WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTT,” Nebula cried, and then turned it over and realized it was fake. There was a note attached though: THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THIS ONE AND ALL THE OTHERS IF YOU AND MAGMAYHEM DO NOT SURRENDER. THE MUSHROOM THING MAY STAY FREE, HE POSES NO THREAT. YOU HAVE 24 HOURS.
After Nebula read this, the fake Lumanight cackled and flew away. “Quick, follow it!” Gryphroom shouted. But it was too fast. “It went in the general direction of… the academy?” Nebula asked, confused.
“Yes, that’s where her new base is straight in the Astral Tower of the academy,” a tiny little voice said.
“IT’S A WIZARD. TINY. SO ADORABLE,” Gryphroom gasped.
The wizard looked a bit affronted. “I am KING SWIFTSHADE(sorry, I couldn’t resist) and I’m the one who killed the PUPPET MASTER.”
“Oh yeah, it’s that one who ended the Puppet Master. The leader of its kind.”
“Well, I’m not the LEADER,” Swiftshade corrected. “I’m just one of the strongest ones.”
“Who’s the leader of your kind, then?” asked Solar, curious.
“The wardens, although nobody knows where they are.”
“Well, then why did you come here, anyway?”
“To try to become a Dragon Allied(this doesn’t exist. But it should)”
“No,” Nebula said. “Never.”
“What’s a Dragon Allied?” Solar asked.
“It’s basically when you have to tie your life force to a puny wizard,” Nebula told him.
“It’s a lot more than that,” Swiftshade corrected, and proceeded to explain it. “Yes, Nebula is right, it IS tying life forces to each other, but until then, the wizard and dragon will be immortal. They will also share power, so the wizard will be able to wield some dragon’s magic and the dragon will be able to use wizard magic, which might be more useful than you think.”
“Does wizard magic include shadow magic?” Solar asked, suddenly interested.
“It includes ALL magic. And luckily for you, I possess the strongest shadow spell in Prodigia.”
“No, I possess the strongest shadow spell in Prodigia,” Nebula said smugly.
“It’s the same spell,” the wizard said, holding up a small statue of Eclipse. “I use this.”
“Where did you get that?” Nebula demanded.
“Some secrets will stay secrets,” the wizard replied, in a tone that implied he knew he had the upper hand. “But, fire dragon that looks like Nebula, if you do the Dragon Allied thing, you WILL be able to use this spell and a lot of other shadow spells. I literally have a collection of them.”
“Solar, are you seriously going to tie your life force to a wizard just for a few Shadow spells?” Nebula asked exasperatedly.
“Yes,” he answered, and then turned to the wizard. “How do you do it?”
The wizard held out a bottle. “It’s really easy. I have to cast some of my magic into this bottle, and then you cast your magic into here, and then we are officially Allied.”
Solar was about to cast his spell when Nebula stopped him. “Wait. First I want to see him cast a spell with that statue.”
“Is that really needed?” asked the wizard lazily.
“Yes,” said both Solar and Nebula.
The wizard cast a shadow spell, and Solar watched, wide eyed, as a huge globe of shadow hurtled towards the ground.
Nebula watched too, and suddenly tore the statue from the wizard. “ That was not the spell. You are not King Swiftshade.”
The wizard stared in shock, and then recovered himself-or should I say, HERself, as the wizard transformed into Allur.
“Too late,” Allur cackled, as her army encircled Nebula, Solar, and Magmayhem. Nebula was frozen for a second, but then blasted Solar out of the encirclement to Gryphroom and gave him the Eclipse statue. He tried to blast Magmayhem too, but then was magically chained along with Magmayhem.
“Now without any of you Epics to stop me, I will TAKE OVER THE WORLD,” declared Allur, and teleported away with her army and the Epics.
“No…” Solar groaned as he stood back up. “We have to save them!”
Gryphroom had a plan. “I can use a huge vine that’ll get us to the Academy. Let’s go!”
Long story short, using the vine, they got the academy. They entered the Astral Tower and found all the Epics chained in the dungeon, along with a wizard Solar recognized as King Swiftshade. The wizard seemed to stir at the sight of the statue, and asked Solar how he had found that. Solar told him, along with the fact that it wasn’t working. Swiftshade told him that it only worked for its true owner, which was him. He’d dueled the old owner of it, Prince E. Spell, and won, giving him ownership of one of the most dangerous artifacts of the world. And Solar asked him if they could the Allied thing so he could use Shadow spells, and Swiftshade said sure, but once Allur was defeated. He also told Solar the key was on the top floor, guarded by a corrupted Glacias. Solar flew up along with Gryphroom, who used the stairs, but the moment they got to the top and were about to get the key, Allur appeared behind them and used her chains to trap Gryphroom. Solar ran/flew away from the open, and all he could hear was Allur’s evil laugh.
“I am the last Epic,” he thought. “I am the last of them, and I HAVE TO FREE THEM, EVEN THOUGH I HAVEN’T MET MOST OF THEM YET.” He thought back to when Nebula was trapped. Her army was mainly normal corrupted pets, which he KNEW he could beat. He just needed a shield from the chains. And then he realized it-the Book of Spells! It had been burned, but Solar, being trapped inside it for so long, knew that the book itself could negate all magic within a huge area as long as it was thrown into the air and obliterated with the power of an epic. He grabbed it from the sack they were carrying, and marched into the academy, ready.
“I’ve been expecting you,” said Allur with an evil smile, and ordered her army to charge while firing chaining spells. Solar dodged and slowly used his mythical attacks and physical spell(and thanked whoever had the idea to give him the physical spell). Finally, it was just him and the witch. She used her crystal staff to rapidly fire chaining spells which Solar mostly dodged but then one caught him. The book in his talons flew into the air, and Allur raised her hands to catch it. But Solar used all of his power to launch a tiny fireball at the book. But that was all it took. A huge explosion happened. Solar easily destroyed his chains and advanced towards the witch. The witch snarled when her wand didn’t work and threw a potion at him, which HURT A LOT and called the rest of her army. “I won’t back down again,” Solar growled, grabbed the witch in his claws, and flew up to the top of the tower. “And I’m the one you’ll see last when you’ll descend.” He threw her out of the window, and as their eyes met, released the strongest, largest, stream of liquid fire he had ever done.
THE MYTHICAL EPICS
So what happened in the end was that Solar freed everyone, and all the empowered Epics(except Magmayhem, who ran away) went back to their Island. Solar and King Swiftshade did the Dragon Allied thing, and Solar FINALLY got Shadow magic. Solar also stayed half the time at Epic Island, half at Swiftshade’s place(which had to be enlarged…but the wizard had over 10 times the gold needed for a higher ceiling). The wizard taught Solar how to play Super Smash Wizards, but probably regretted it later, because Solar soon beat him every time(and won the SSW championships that they gave him a custom trophy). Solar also ate his bed, but the Swiftshade, amused(since he often did the exact same thing), magicked it back again(he had the sandwich bed. Never doubt the power of a 10th dinner!). Back at Epic Island, they still had Grand Talent Contests, but now they were harder than before with newer challenges and the fact that the Epics themselves were stronger. Sadly for Nebula, his wins were less frequent, due to the addition of Solar and the mythicalization of Vegabloom, Gryphroom, and Lumanight. So really, life was almost back to normal. Almost.
