The Void (usually referred to without capitalization as a location) is a fanon area that is integral to the plot of the central roleplay series.
Overview[]
The void is the host dimension of its eponymous substrand, and a parallel to Creation and what constitutes it. A black and purple expanse of darkness, often described simply as "dark and cold", it serves to contain what is considered non-existent or destroyed by the laws of Creation, working in tandem in terms of the processes of death with the Lotus Realm. Each timeline and dimension is connected to the void, albeit the void is most easily explained as being divided into layers for timelines and parallels for dimensions. If a voidwalker is powerful enough, they can move between layers, and if a Void Elemental learns how, they can cross parallels (which will be normally stopped by the entities). The void itself is also a conscious being, forming a mouthpiece for itself known as the Void Elemental. Due to being conscious, they serve as an extension of the current mouthpiece's self and reacts accordingly to its current state. This has led to many awkward and disturbing situations where the reality itself flinches, recoils, and performs all sorts of actions. This mouthpiece has taken various forms, the default being the Devourer—a primordial wyrm. The current mouthpiece is Void, a humanoid being.

Sub Areas[]
Boundaries[]
Boundaries are blank, white expanses of empty space, seemingly stretching out into infinity. They serve to separate the Void and other dimensions from each other, and are kept impenetrable via the CONSOLEs. One Boundary serves to imprison Voidwalkers who die after losing all of their failsafes (nicknamed "voidwalker purgatory"),[Note 1] though it is not impenetrable, and it's rather easy for voidwalkers above a certain power level to jailbreak each other out of it.
Temple of the Void[]
This temple is often referred to simply as the void version of the Temple of Creation, an ancient, magical building with the motif of an excavator for... unknown reasons. It's far larger within than its appearance would suggest, filled with rows upon rows of labyrinthine shelves, halls, and doors that change their layout with the will of its keeper, RW Darkshade. Its archives are filled with tomes from ancient civilizations and illegible writings, twisted and corrupted imprints of their true counterparts in Creation. RW is here every hour of every unknown void measurement of time, but one might encounter members of the Voidwalker's Sect, the other three Darkshades, or the Element of Void in this location as well.
Groups[]
Voidwalker Sect[]
Ancient Civilization[]
A civilization with many voidwalkers that either lived in or frequently explored the void and developed the void relics (potentially by accident), later being destroyed by the void wyrm. They wrote many of the texts in the void's temple, which RW frequently reviews and categorizes.
Encounters[]
Imprints[]
Imprints are essentially the void's ways of making "save files" of the real world(s), and with this metaphor, the .tmp file of existence may not appear in ways comprehensible to mortals. Continuing with this metaphor, these .tmp files are encrypted by severely distorting their existence, allowing inanimate beings such as—for example—a cereal box to become animate,[Note 2] and turning normal beings into monstrosities infected with the void. Their names are also reversed or scrambled. However, just like a .tmp file, they can be converted back to their original format by slaying them after activating the appropriate summoning settings on the the CONSOLE. As implied, via this restoration, deceased beings can also be brought back to life. However, unless the body has been completely destroyed, they would resurrect at the location of their corpse, and it is inadvisable to do so unless you have already robbed their grave.
Imprints in themselves are portions of a dead soul, namely that which anchors them away from the Lotus Realm. When an imprint is slain without the intention of revival, it comes back after a time, usually a period of about twelve hours. Appears as a shadowy, zombie-like figure, outlined in purple and veiled in darkness.
Superior Imprint[]
Imprints carrying extra portions of the soul of the source being. Able to mimic techniques and abilities of the original more closely. Created upon death of stronger beings, such as wizards of higher renown or those who are particularly favored by the ENTITIES. Such imprints are noted to have a more unique area in the void, such as the challenge grounds upon the death of Gale Starheart or the halls of memories upon the death of Hunter Landcrafter.
Other Imprints of Note[]
Ffodnarg[]
A distinctly powerful creature of the Void, created due to the repeated duels with Grandoff conducted by wizards of high caliber in the Dark Tower. A great dragon, wings replaced by networks of spiked tendrils that can morph into different shapes. Bottom jaw can split down the middle. Fire magic as potent as the original, as well as additional laser-based attacks and a concentrated liquefying venom.
Crystallash[]
A construct of accumulated sentient Void crystals. Akin to a larger Crystal Monster, with darker coloration and protruding tentacles on either side of the creature, composed entirely of essence and given form with crystal shards.
Ulakam[]
Another beast of the Void, created from the repeated duels with Makalu conducted by wizards of high caliber in the Crystal Caverns. A hulking Crystal Wyrm composed of void crystals, with bulkier, more aggressive shapes in crystal formation. Has full control over all body segments and composition, able to eject injured parts and break them into smaller components or recombine them to heal. Crafty when in combat situations.
Angry Can[]
A prime example of inanimate objects becoming animate. An imprint of the discarded husks of the favorite drink of a certain ENTITY. By and large the most powerful swarm in the whole of the void, posing a threat to reality if not subdued by the CONSOLES passively. Extradimensional aluminum can bend into edges that can slice clean into the fabric of space and time. Contained in an isolated, triple-quarantined containment zone far away from the rest of existence, with the combined processing power of all consoles in all realities. In the event that even one escapes, a team of champions of incredible power is assembled from different timelines to subdue it and recontain it. Should the dimension ever fail, then an army of every being in every reality is sent to bring down the Angry Cans, but if they fail as well, reality as we know it is sent screaming into the nothing, carved up and thrown away in a storm of aluminum.
Abomination[]
A freak of un-nature, summoned by beings of great power when called upon. Manifestations of the primordial rage of the Void when hosting a creature of Creation. Immense brute strength owed to twisted muscle mass over a hulking frame with no head and a metallic cap over the stump. Rows of teeth line the inside of the neckhole, from which spare flesh can be repurposed into a blunt weapon.
Atrocity[]
A native being of the Void, brought on by disturbed essence. Cyclopic masses of tentacles with multiple hidden mouths at the core, able to grow to sizes of buildings. Summoned atrocities can also be manually warped in physical appearance, depending on power put into them and other substances (such as soul magic).
Watcher[]
Swarms of dark hands with eyes in their palms. Grip strength up to six-hundred kilos. Able to scream for unknown reasons. Source is relatively unknown, though it's likely they manifest from liquids in the void when either summoned or disturbed. Able to appear through rifts of their own making.
Temple Guardian[]
Inactive constructs composed of void rock. Positioned outside of places of great importance, such as the void imprints of the Academy or Epic Subspace. Thought to be the result of the existence of Harmony in Creation, though have not been recorded moving or acting in any manner whatsoever.
Notes[]
- ↑ The voidwalker purgatory is a particularly well-reinforced Boundary, but there's literally nothing to do there besides rot and potentially be consumed by the darkness, hence why many opt to simply escape.
- ↑ Disclaimer: Many of the animated inanimate object in the void exist purely for the ENTITIES' amusement, and are not normally encountered unless intentionally sought out.
