This is a common group name. If you would like to make a different version, go ahead! Transport workers are a multi-species, multi-company group of drivers, or riders, and their steeds. Riders and steeds cooperate to transport non-teleporting monsters and other folks throughout Prodigy Island, the Treacherous Taiga, the Northern Island, and to and from the western port of Harmony Island.
History[]
Founded by the Prodigy Island Department of Transportation upon the induction of the new nation, the government-created company Lamplight Lift allowed citizens of all of the islands to be transported. Citizens of various islands could apply for ridership if they graduated the Academy, and these graduates could have their own pets evaluated to be used as steeds so that they would be approved for use. Intelligent monsters could request to have themselves become rideable, and they were often paired with petless riders just starting out.
Soon afterward, transport companies like Pitrak developed high-speed trains to outcompete the traditional riding companies, and the original use of steeds immediately fell out of taste; Pitrak's systems were cleaner and safer, providing open-air options and quicker access to faraway locations.
Weapons/Gear[]
Each rider wears a red polo tee with their mostly white jockey uniform. They carry Blue Pearls with them to cast combat spells and stabilize themselves if they are ever in trouble. Steeds wear harnesses that allow them to be driven properly, and they vary in size and shape depending upon the species of steed and their other bodily traits.
Once the system of using steeds and riders fell out of style, less monsters were left in the transport industry and more humanlike species took up jobs. They retained the jockey attire out of tradition, but no longer are forced to wear the white cap.
Abilities[]
The abilities of transport workers are either inherited on their own or learned through the Academy, previous job training, or training to work in the industry. Not all transport workers share the same level of training, but most are fine at their jobs.
Strengths and Weaknesses[]
The strengths and weaknesses of individual transport workers depend upon the individual.
