Flames Balanced[]
That EB alternate reality I was talking about! I came with it ages ago, trashed it, reused the concept in something else, trashed that, and then decided to untrash the original concept and write it.
- Crios was the one who received elemental balance, not Starheart. And no one knows but his pets. He mained the fire element, forming a relationship with the fire elemental to the point he could control the fire element most easily. He was proclaimed a "Prodigy" due to his expertise, but still, no one learned of why he was so good.
- Near when the Arena system changed, he began losing control - Shadow was growing restless. So he quit, not wanting to hurt anyone. Meanwhile, a certain fairy had his suspicions.

Prologue[]
One last spell crashed down.
One last battle.
One more win.
"The Prodigy has won again!" The Arena Caller Exclaimed.
He faked a smile, secretly despising the title, and helped his opponent up. "You did great! You nearly had me there."
The wizard looked at him skeptically, blond hair falling in their eyes, "Really?"
"You did. You're really good at Water Magic and to be honest with you, I haven't practiced Storm or Earth Magic in ages." That was true. Sort of.
She smiled, quickly getting over losing the battle. "Are you going to continue battling next season? I heard they're making changes to the system, think you'll be able to beat me then?"
-Crios. Don't promise anything.
Hm? Why not.
-Trust me on this one.
He ruffled his hair nervously, "I don't know... I'm a bit old school, not sure I'll be able to manage it. Plus... I've been wanting to retire for a while now."
"Oh?" She looked surprised, "I thought you loved battling?"
"It gets boring after a while." He said with a shrug, resisting the urge to run. He had begun to have a piercing headache, and he needed out - now. "Er, I really need to go, I want to check on my pets."
"Oh. Okay. See you later then."
He smiled, then ran off, dashing out a back door just as his hair began to turn purple.
"Fool."
